Yeah that's the old way. New routing started last Oct that saves a day to the US.

New route

They still shipped through Hong Kong as recently as a few weeks ago. I think it depends on what aircraft are available and capacity. The HK route is the same length as the direct to Incheon route.

Some changes may of been made on the fly when the weather was looking like it was going to get bad in HK, possibly changing the routing to keep ops flowing, lets be honest UPS has other stuff they need to get places as well. Route could of been changed because of the predicted issues at teh HKG airport. Eaither way I am will be happy to get my hands on the phone Wed.

Just received a shipment notification email from Apple at 10:31 PM Pacific indicating standard shipping delivery 9/27 to San Francisco.
UPS now shows 9/26 by end of day to San Francisco via Worldwide Express Saver.

While I didn't read all the freak-out posts, I have the opposite opinion. I find it pretty damn incredible that my phone, currently in Korea, will be in my hot little hands in little over 24 hours.

I touched a few digital buttons on my phone in the middle of the night on Friday and a shiny new phone will be at my house, coming from China, a mere 5 days later, that ain't bad.

PS - Shipping was free, what a country!

Agree 100%.

Your post was a realistic breathe of fresh air

Looks like I made that UPS flight:

UPS99 it is. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS99. Judging from the timeline, it seems they held the flight until the phones were aboard.

Ordered: 64 GB Silver iPhone 5s (Verizon) at 1:08 AM Mountain Time. Shipping 1-3 days. Delivers September 30th - October 2nd by Standard Shipping.

Got my Shipment Notification email at 11:44 PM Mountain Time from Apple saying it shipped!

ZhengZhou, China 09/23/2013 5:12 A.M. Origin Scan

Hope it gets here quicker than the Estimated Delivery. I am in Montana.

EDIT: Tracking Updated and is Estimating Delivery by the end of the day on 9/26! :-D

Departed Korea.

Me too, but either we are on UPS99 or a contracted flight. I think the scan is just a couple hours late. For a while I showed in transit and roughly the right time for a UPS99 load out. Either way, it'll be right but I bet they hit Tuesday by EOD.

Customs is probably pre-cleared for a shipment like this. Apple will have pre-certified the cargo and UPS will obtain the certificate while it is in the air.

Good to know. I figured they had a way around the usual process but I didn't know what it was.

New scan..

Again... thanks for the info!

My Sprint iPhone ordered through Apple has also shipped. I ordered at 1:34am Pacific.

My shipping info looks very similar to the others on here, with scheduled delivery of Thursday! :)

I'm so impatient for my new toy to get here!!!

The 2nd 32gigs Space Gray (purchased just seconds after the 1st one via the Apple store app) finally shipped and will arrive one day later on Thursday Sept 26th than the 1st one. Just a few seconds apart can mean a day difference depending on demand.

Woe! I wasn't expecting this...

Scheduled Delivery:
Wednesday, 09/25/2013, By End of Day
Last Location:
Arrived - ZhengZhou, China, Monday, 09/23/2013

I am in Columbus, Ohio.

I ordered my 64GB Space Gray AT&T iPhone 5s right when the Apple Store app went live at 12:03 PDT. Originally it said "Preparing for Shipment Available to ship: 1 - 3 business days Delivers: Sep 30 - Oct 2 by Standard Shipping"

Amazing that it could be in China today (although I think they are 12 hours ahead of me) and here at my house in 2 days.

My 32gb Gold shows it will be delivered Wednesday even though the email I got from Apple this morning said Thursday.

I paid $10 extra for nothing. Looks like everyone is getting the phone on 25 or 26.

May not have been for nothing. Some people didn't make that first plane. Perhaps paying the $10 put you on the plane ahead of some people who didn't.

Not to mention, for local delivery its a different delivery truck. In the past, some phones were still on the regular truck at the end of the day so it could save you a day.
