Ugh.

So I am on a Family Plan with my parents, but I live in a different state from them. My phone was originally shipping to my dad's house because Apple wouldn't allow alternate shipping addresses from the AT&T billing account. My dad called in and had Apple change the address to mine so that the phone would go to me instead of him. Well, I check the tracking number, and even though it says "Receiver requested a temporary address change," it's still listed as going to my parents' city.

I Live Chat UPS, and they say they haven't gotten a new address from Apple, so it's still going to my parents' city. How exactly can the Tracking Activity show an "address change request" if they apparently didn't get one from Apple? So I called Apple again, and they requested the shipping address change again. We will see what happens. Basically I have no idea where my phone is going, or when I will get it. Luckily I'm upgrading for fun, and my 4S is still perfectly fine, but this is annoying!

Did anyone else have a successful address change during shipment?

Hi -

I just wanted to thank everyone for their participation in this very spirited forum! Ever since the release of the iPhone 4, it's been enjoyable reading all of the different stories iPhone fans have had in their quest to get one of these incredible devices. While most of my work colleagues would glaze over and scream "GEEK" to me if I ever shared my trials and tribulations with them, it's nice to have a place where we can all get together, vent and exchange information (most of it very useful.)

I hit the Apple Store online at 3:00:05am ET on 9/20 and, after several attempts, including a strange notice that a phone had been reserved for me, that Apple couldn't reach their servers and I would get an email back completing my order (which, by the way, was an error-filled mess), I re-entered the Apple Store and scored a 32gb Space Gray 5s, which was exactly what I wanted, by about 3:25am ET.

Looks like my phone is on Flight 81, judging by this update, and I can't wait to see the UPS guy drive up my driveway in the morning.

Thanks again and I'll see you for "6."

HI

I have the exact same departure time from Anchorage. My iphone is headed to Boston. How do you know flight 81 is the one with that departure time of 3.45pm? The closest plane I found was UPS105 which is heading to Chicago.

Just an update for others waiting for "end of day" delivery: It's almost 8pm PDT. Still no change in status; still "out for delivery". I just checked with UPS via chat, and all they could say is the driver could still deliver as late as 10pm.

Update: they just arrived at 8:10 PDT

As always, it's been fun doing the launch-tracking thing with the MR gang. 'Til next time! :D

Thanks! Hope mine looks like that tomorrow, I'm about 45 min from sac :)

Good luck! I'm out in Davis, and was thrilled! It was a little frustrating at first because I had another package arrive via UPS earlier in the morning. *shrug* And had plenty of things going on, so I am drained. Long day!

Also having never owned an iPhone before, I'm still trying to use it like an android phone, which has its awkward moments lol. The geek motto one would be: Never use an apple expecting it to work like an orange!

My 5s finally arrived at 7:00 pm in perfect condition. Fingerprint scanners works well also, loving the LTE. Good luck to those still waiting on their phones :)

Verizon has great tools for cross upgrades. Got the phone, activated it on my mom's number, transferred the number right back to her iPhone. Then swapped my iPhone 5 sim into the new 5S and done.

Congrats on getting your first iphone! My bf uses droids so I know what you mean, I'll grab his phone to do something then grab mine because I like it so much better lol

This thread is sure quiet since everyone got their phones... Unfortunately mine is stuck in Louisville still but they just did something a few minutes ago!

If ups manages to get this to me tomorrow, I'm giving the driver something special.

Same here, just got another import scan…

For those expecting shipments tomorrow, if you happen to be up near Sacramento, here's how my shipment progressed :)

Finally came! :D

Thanks man, looks like there is hope for the Monday West Coast crew to get it on Friday

so excited!

Interesting.

BTW, UPS99 has just taken off. Flightaware is estimating it will arrive 3 hours late in SDF.

Thank you @jehrler! I've been following this forum for the past two days, but haven't been able to post (thanks work) until now. Waiting for my At&t 32g Silver to arrive in Minneapolis tomorrow (today?) so I can have it before my 8-day vacation to California. Fingers crossed. Good luck all!

Hang in there people who are still waiting. Your phone will be in your hands soon ...

My 64gb golden 5s was delivered today (one day early)...Already set it up so now its time to give my i5 to my husband....and we gave the 4s he was using away on tradecellular as a reward for an assumption for an extra line we were looking to dump.:D:D:D

Ah, WTF... my screen looks just like yours. I called UPS and they said there was a 7:30 am scan in KY, and that my phone was on its way to NYC and that I would get it tomorrow... I'm going to raise all kids of hell if that doesn't happened, because they DELIBERATELY lied.

I guess our phones weren't on UPS99 because mine just arrived in KY! Scanned at 2:01am. Here's hoping it can get on a plane to CA and delivered today. Pleeeease, apple gods, pleeeease.

Mine was on UPS61 and was scanned in Kentucky @2.05am. It's supposed to be delivered in Malden by the end of today. Is this possible? I'm not from the US so have no idea how feasible for UPS to deliver it today when it is still out of state.

There's a flight from Louisville to Boston at 4:06am, so as long as they can get it on that flight then you will most likely get it today. I don't know how long it takes them once it arrives in KY to do the import scan and get it on the correct plane. I'm trying to remain hopeful but... most of the tracking I saw so far had a good 3-4 hours for this process.

Thanks for the info.

This is very surreal to me to think about the logistics of moving all these packages around while generally getting them delivered on time or even early.

*fingers crossed it gets delivered today!*

Everybody whose phones are in Louisville right now should calm down. Planes out of Lousiville will be starting to leave shortly, and the time between 4am and 5am EDT is absolutely nuts. I was listening to Louisville ATC last night (go insomnia!), and logging every UPS plane that departed (at times peaking at a plane every 30 seconds). If you look in my post history, you can find the giant post of every flight and where it was headed to get an idea of what the overnight activity at Louisville looks like (it also has flight numbers so you can see what plane your phone is on and track it on flightaware.com if you like).

If your phone makes one of these planes going out tonight, it will almost certainly be delivered tomorrow (barring something else happening). But your phone being in Louisville at 3am EDT is normal. Also, you'll track the plane taking off before the scan shows up on ups.com, so don't freak.
