That was a great story. Reminded me of the scene in Wayne's World where Chris Farley gives Wayne too much information... but later it comes in handy. Anyone familiar with the movie should know what I mean.

I just had my elfin friend and spiritual advisor Landar tell me while I was channeling his essence that the powerbook would have dual G4's and that mattel was putting out an easy bake oven, and recommending using this new powerbook as the heat source instead of a lightbulb.
So, who to believe.
But seriously, I wouldn't doubt the fact that apple is trying to either squash the hype so it doesn't go too far mainstream or just squashing it because they can.

You my friend seem to be one of the few who seems to get it. Can you believe all the other replies to this artsy make-believe conversation as if it were written literally? I am stunned by my adopted countrymens' inability to grasp things ephemeral, if not literal! HELLO???? It was meant to convey a truth (or series of them) in a form that will NOT attract Apple's legal eagles. Ring da bells!!!!!
Apple IS going to go with the 970 and it will be sooner than later. Any other course is a disaster for Apple and even if they continue on with some relationship with Moto ( it has some utility in competition of sorts) they must do the 970s... otherwise they and we, as ardent Mac users are totally stuffed. And that, is the literal truth.

AI broke the dam. After their news over the weekend, several other sites have repeated the same info. I kind of think that this is not because they are simply repeating what AI said, but because they have corroborating information. After all, very little that MacBidouille has posted over the last several weeks has made waves outside of the rumor community. Their info wasn't particularly different, but MacBis has been fairly quiet in the last couple weeks. The difference is in the high degree of AI's detail and the fact that as we get closer to the announcement, a lot more people are bound to know.
My point is that I think this AI has solid sources and today's story is not just a lame way of throwing a net and seeing what comes up at WWDC.
And I don't know who "Solomon" is, but the fact that they made him/her sound a little like a blabber makes me think AI's contact(s) don't like this person and want to get them in trouble.

Yes. Another point that seems to be escaping out the pressure valve is that the poorly written nature of the article is part of the joke, as it emphasizes the contrived, circumvential purpose of the depicted situation. IOW it simultaneously utilizes and mocks the method it represents.

i'm with you on this one. and for those that think it had bad dialogue, etc., i even think it was well written! this writing style, while not mainstream, certainly has its place and flair.
i could see the scene in my head--some hip, urban-dive bar with big windows looking out to the street, geeks speaking to each other in for...next loops, using gawking at females they'll never even speak to. sounds like a place i would want to go to (again and again and again....😀 ) i could see this as a scene in some movie--kind of like the old private dick movies with the estranged woman, looking for help, only these are apple geeks looking for the answer to all their dreams! god bless us, every one!
