I don't know any specifics, but I have had some issues with my home connection suddenly dropping out. It's been a relatively recent development. I've always had periodic outages where I ended up restarting both my modem and my AirPort Express in order to get things working, but the last few months have seen a number of dropouts where the connection just restores itself within a few minutes without any fixes being done by me.

I have no idea whether this has anything to do with it, but it's something I've noticed recently.
I have had huge problems with my internet dropping. I would have to reset the modem and router and the computer to get it back up. I had comcast to my house I kid you not 6 times with in a month. But recently I have not had those problems kinda solved itself not sure why. I hope this update prevents it happening again

Windows File Sharing now generates only one process, avoiding an issue that could cause a Mac OS X computer to become unresponsive if it won a master browser election.

I'll miss those 200+ smbd processes ...

It seems to update the AirPort card firmware on the Core (1) Duo iMac...can anyone find a change list? How about confirming this on a MB or MBP? Maybe we have 802.11n capabilities now?
Yeah I got the same update in my Intel iMac (Core 1 Duo) - I wonder the same...mmm 802.11n :D

My first system update without my iMac.

I guess I'll just go home and *sniff* update my wife's *sob* Sawtooth :(

Yeah really! I'm looking forward to upgrading tonight at home and seeing how much faster Safari will now be. I know, this joke has already been had... But for us Comcast users, maybe.... :p

Really, WOW. I wouldn't have ever thought of "Comcast" being address in an OS update. I was on DSLReports complaining that Comcast advertises their speed as 6MB but I'm only getting 1/2 that. Yes, there are many factors to consider with the speed of your internet connection BUT "around 2MB - 6MB is normal" isn't acceptable when 6MB is the adveristed speed.

Anyways.. I'll see if I notice any drastic changes in performance tonight.

It appeared in Software Update this morning and when I tried to install it S/ware update crashed. When I went back in it was gone! Weird!
Check your Library/Receipts folder - if it wrote a receipt for Aperture 1.5 but didn't update the application, Software Update won't grab it the next time you try. You could wait for the standalone, or try moving the Aperture 1.5 receipt (if it exists) to the trash and re-running Software Update.

Also, might as well get this over with for the thread as well: Wow, do you think if they run beyond 10.4.9 it's gonna be 10.4.10 or something else? :D

It seems that after the installation the colors are... different somehow. Like when you boot from the OS X install disc the colors seem off, but once you restart normally the color scheme is back to normal.

Anyone know what I am talking about, or do I sound totally insane here?

The note about improvements for Comcast users has me excited. My bandwidth at home has been rather slothy here lately, so maybe this will help.

No receipt in there. (But thanks for the advice though)

10.4.9A .9B .9C etc?!

I never received a response from Apple's engineers regarding my inability to select sample rates over 96 kHz on my MacBook. The specs clearly say it supports those sample rates. Only one person said they could and they have a MacBook Pro. Could someone with a MacBook or MacBook Pro let me know if they're able to select a sample rate higher than 96 kHz in the Audio Settings?

Huh, I've consistently gotten between 6-8mbps on my Comcast line everytime I've tested over the past several months.

Is there any significance behind Intel machines have to restart twice?
From here:
After installing the delta version of this update on an Intel-based Mac, the computer will restart two times--the first restart after installing this update may take several minutes; please allow it to complete.

MacsRgr8 took care of it in post #17...let's not go there.
