I'm really pleased they added this; it was really useful in Boot Camp.

I believe they always had it actually (since I've been using it). The change was creating a separate preference for just the trackpad. It also works to tap the track pad with 2 fingers at once (that's actually what I've been using.)

Is the zoom function on the trackpad new though? That's pretty neat.

Repair Permissions

Has anyone noticed if the time it takes to repair permissions has decreased? It was really fast in 10.4, not that it's that big of a deal, just curious.

The new MacBooks will keep having that florecent light bulb. It's there because it means to highlight energy efficency. Let us remind ourselves of their new ad they released about going green. :)

Has anybody else found that multi-touch in Finder no longer works?

Worked in 10.5.5 but works no more... :(

I can't do it anymore either. It does work in other apps though. I like it better this way because I always seem to activate it by accident

Don't know if this is a coincidence but I benchmarked my OCZ V2 120gb SSD in my Alu Macbook 2.4 and I get better results after the 10.5.6 update.

The uncached write on 256k blocks has doubled (might mean nothing) :)

Just made an update in iCal and it took 19 minutes to sync with MobileMe. Pity, that was the only thing I was really needing to happen, everything else had been fine.

Make sure that under MobileMe preferences you have it set to sync with MobileMe "automatically". Mine was set to every hour after I updated. With it set to automatically, syncing happens instantly.

Well since I backup and reinstall the whole OS at point updates, I needed to put my music files back on the faithful MBP. I'm getting a much faster data transfer than I never have before. An actual 10MB/second. Maybe even a little quicker than that.

Whenever I have reinstalled my OS, I never got it this quick. I have about 80 gb worth of music and movies. It is taking less than an hour.

Upload thru automatic update a Mini (2GHz) with zero trouble, and downloaded the update (not the combo tho) from Apple's website and updated my MBP Unibody with zero trouble. Two chimes later here I am. :)

My MBP updated fine with no problems.

Both my Mini and iMac are getting stuck at the "Installing 1 item...Configuring Installation" screens. Anyone know what to do?

My machine updated just fine but Time Machine keeps "preparing backup" for about 30 mins...

I hope he'll be done soon

Big irritation imho. Big let down on apple's part. They need to slow down with all the new hardware that requires software patches and actually fix up the the OS so it is functioning properly.

Or you know, MSFT's Mac Business unit could actually fix it too. Part of the problem is that their legacy codebase hasn't been keeping up, and since the code dates back to the System 7 days, I wouldn't be surprised if their code simply is behaving poorly in response to events.

I got the same thing, but it worked eventually, and now it works just fine. That always seems to happen to me after point updates
