Downloaded 10.5.6 and my Macbook has been terribly slow doing everything just about. Can I go back to the older version? I'm also getting some weird todo.mbox folder in my Mail app that I can't delete no matter what I do.![]()
You can go back if you have a Time Machine, SuperDuper, Carbon Copy Cloner, or other suitable backup, but there's no way to "uninstall" an OS upgrade. Sorry about your problems. I haven't seen any on my aluminum MB or Power Mac G4, and I'm about to install the upgrade on my wife's Blackbook.
Have you tried installing the combo update? You can install it right on top of the one from Software Update, and it has been known to fix some problems. MacFixit published some solutions for some 10.5.6 problems. Their suggestions for Mail issues are: apply the combo update, delete Mail's preferences file, rebuild mailboxes.
