I haven't seen reports of excess battery drain with iOS 16. Have you?
First day and a half post install for me, yes, but turns out photos was churning through 16,000 + vids/pics searching for duplicates - found over 1600 - then battery life settled back down

If it weren’t for my new Ultra, I’d be happily running iOS 15 on my 13PM. I like the battery percentage but really have no need (that I know of) for any of these features…
For battery level just ask Siri no problem and screen less cluttered

Yeah. It’s kind nuts from both sides. I personally couldn’t care less to see a number instead of a bar chart. In fact seeing the actual percentage gives me anxiety, but I understand that other people like to see the number. And from Apple’s side, I can’t believe it took them so long to bring the percentage back for those who want it.
Old 5SE stuck now forever at iOS 15.7 and Siri would always reply for battery level when asked. Of course 15.7 showed percentage anyway.

It had been a few years since I did the public beta thing. Just long enough to forget that I would regret it. Stuck on 16.1. Horrible. The goofy “clean energy charging” screwed me on a flight where it only charged to 80% and I thought the phone was on charger all night, thought it must be full, grabbed it and off I go. It is like the compulsory on/off engine switch in vehicles, it is just on……getting a module to turn that “gas saving” feature off too….
