Maps is not very accurate in this build (at least for me) and is usually off for a couple off seconds. This location is a bit ways from where I live. And I left the last half of Sacramento visible on purpose, to show that it gives that info. And if someone is really that interested to stalk me that they scan all the neighborhoods in sac then kudos to them. But I lead a pretty boring life... ;)

Haha. yea i didn't mean to be on your case--if it seemed so. I just saw a blue dot on a home, so I assumed you were inside of a house. Especially since you would have posted the picture right after screen-shotting it (you would have to be at home to post the image).

I posted this two pages back. Any group SMS automatically turns into a group MMS. Many of my recipients have noted this.

Also, we can now text to any e-mail address and receive e-mails back as SMS to our messaging app.
 
mail icon bug

keeps saying i have one email, even after i open my mail up and read all emails. any ideas on how to make this go away?

Yes rhett, I am still looking, it is just nothing new has been posted that is "confirmed" and I have not found anything new in 3.0 beta 4 yet. MY mms still does not legally work, I do not have any tethering option and nothing that can be called a "New Feature" has been located.

I will update the store icon but that is all i see.
 
I just noticed something in Beta 4. In the app store, if you are in any button (on the bottom), scroll all the way down. It says your account. you can click on that and actually sign out, and view your account details. (same as store settings)
 
heres a question for all you 3.0 experts out there, can you use your custom sms sounds? like in the 2.2.x firmware JB or is that option still not available?

Not so much a new feature,,, but have you or another seen the stability with this beta gone up? Or has it remaind about the same?

For me it has been very stable. I have had zero issues except for some of the expected apps that do not work yet. The blue tooth still has problems for me but other then that it is very stable and running/syncing just fine.
 
i posted this in the release thing yesterday, but I'm not sure if this is a feature or not...perhaps??

Also I don't know if anyone has reported this but I'm using Bose quiet comfort 2 headphones and every time I sent or received a text on previous iterations of firmware between 1.1.4 to 3.0b3 I received gsm buzz. The buzz I receive is extremely limited now and nearly nonexistent when I send/receive texts. I'm not THAT technical so I don't know if they are able to turn down the radios or limit interference But it currently seems to be happening anyone else notice this??

Have you tried doing this with the stock headphones? I am curious about this.... It gets on my work partners nerves every time I get a text or email.

Honestly, stop waiting for the ability to modify the SB. If it was going to happen, it wouldnt be quietly rolled out in a beta. It would be announced by apple, its a pretty big feature.

I can definitely say that something has been changed, I have used the phone with the 3.0b4 on three different FM transmitters, itrip and the like, the stock headphones and two different bose headphones. There is no GSM buzz when checking email, and the buzz is minimal to non existent during text messages. If someone else could corroborate these findings, that'd be awesome!

This is good news!!!! If it stays this way throughout the beta's and makes it way to the final production.
 
Sorry if this is sort of an odd question...


When you're listening to music and you get a call, does it still ring through the headphones AND the iPhone's speaker???

This has always annoyed me because a lot of the time I'm using headphones in a quiet place and the blaring ring is kind of embarrassing.
 
not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but it wasnt in the first post thats been updated-

The recent calls log also shows the duration of each call, or if there are multiple of the same person close together, it gives a list of the durations for each separate call. Awesome! I always wished it had this.
