Can anyone confirm if the Apple In-Ear Headphones remote can finally change the volume etc.? Is it fully supported?

Add "Landscape Contacts" to your Contacts section.

in the contacts app, (not the phone app) you can turn it sideways...

i can do that anyway without adding a contact called "landscape" to my contacts list...

I was telling the original poster to add this feature to his features list. I didn't mean add "Landscape Contacts" to your Address Book. Heh. I just meant that Contacts could be turned sideways and viewed.

AppleInsider just posted some more tricks.

The first one they show is the one I brought up straight from the beginning. I was so relieved when you could close the last page in Safari without opening a new one first. Whew. I can't believe they're just getting around to it now to show it off. It's been there since beta 1!

One of the options detailed in the link above is the ability to control notifications, which appears in Settings underneath the Carrier setting. However, in my Beta 3, I do not see it?

How is this beneficial? Does it save battery? Or memory?

Yes it does. When you close all pages in Safari and hit the home button... Safari stops running in the background. It clears a TON of RAM. Try it out.

I'm pretty sure this is new.
Possibly only new to Beta 3.
But now you can see what you are connected to.
I'm assuming bluetooth, dock connector, or it will show the volume slider for headphones and auxiliary.

I didn't think to get a photo from the iPod app.
But one from the lock screen and one from Pandora.

And also, album artwork shows up even when iPhone is charging. Definitely like this.

As far as hardware issue, which piece of hardware? The headphones or the iPhone.

The iPhone, it doesn't have all 4 or 5 connectors that the headphones have. So that makes the iPhone not fully compatible with the headphones.

This is good... this might be the beginning of having apps other then apple apps running the background. Sort of like what another hand held maker does. Allows you to stop process to free up ram. This is good!

if it were the headphones someone would have come up with how to change it. however i'm positive a company could include a secondary pot on the headphones so if your iPhone was set to max, you could externally control the volume with the pot on the headphones - although people would complain about that and call it 'cheap'

Is this new? I've never seen it before but could be I just didn't notice. Tapping on the blue icon shows your location.

Not a good job blurring out that address. Are you form Sacramento, CA? I could find out exactly where you live based on that image. Not smart!

How do you know he lives there and he's not driving around?

You could also just look up his IP address without much difficulty. The internet is hardly anonymous anymore.
