If you're 'waiting' while you have a 7/+, it really isn't waiting at all.

You've bought into the hype, already.

And that's fine if you did, just don't pat yourself on the back.

Same goes for all ip7/+ owners.
Yeah, okay. Whatever you say must be the truth. I was going to wait for the 2017 iPhone, but liked the new features in the iPhone 7 Plus, so I bought it. But at first, I was going to hold off, because the iPhone 6s Plus that I have now is a great phone. I am very happy with it. Anybody want to buy it? JK, I have a buyer at my work, the same gent who bought my iPhone 6.

I hope that they'll release an iPhone that is not 'just' 7s next year, but I'm not holding my breath. Some people seem quite sure that Apple is doing something special on 10th anniversary of the iPhone, but they'll probably just release a video, like they did for Apple's 40th birthday.

I agree and believe next year will be a true 7S minimal to no redesign with beefed internals. Apple usually sticks to their model which quite obviously works so I don't think they should or will buck the trend. And with Kuo already predicting MINOR upgrades I see no reason to not believe it, just about every single 7 rumor was spot on.

They just broke their model with the 7. They've never had the same design for three years. Have they? Trust me--they won't use that design for a fourth year. Thinner, lighter, new look, Apple knows that these are the models that people flock to. And it gives them a chance to turn up the hyperbole.

Or Apple will accept that there is so many ways you can redesign the same rectangle and go with different materials instead like Ceramics to attract customers.

It's not the same design as last year. There are clear differences. I understand it's similar but by no means the same. I feel there were enough improvements to validate this will be produced again on an S cycle. And if not we all win and get a redesign I just don't believe it will happen.

I doubt there is going to be an anniversary iPhone. I don't recall Apple releasing an anniversary edition of their products other than the 20th anniversary limited edition Mac back in '97 and that thing was insanely expensive. Or we would have seen an anniversary edition iPod, MacBook, etc....

But it's true.

If you bought a 7/+ (and it's a fine phone)...then technically, you're not waiting for the 2017 phone.

That's not to say that you can't be interested or excited about it (the 10th Anniversary phone).

Half of me thinks the 2017 phone won't be extra special.

Will it have goodies that will debut?...sure. But will the phone be 'must-have'? I doubt it.

This is the main reason as well. They've never cared before I don't believe they'll care now. Apple is always business as usual.

I, and basically everyone else, disagrees. It's the same general design...with a few tweaks. Just like how the 5S was like the 5, but with Touch ID and better specs.

Don't paint with such a broad brush there, in many of the other threads I see more and more people anticipating a 7S

Hmm? I think you've misunderstood me. That's a different subject, I was just saying that it's the same design. That wasn't meant as an attack.

Ok gotcha. I don't anticipate it being much more than 6 months before we have some clues into what there gonna be producing for next years model as there are small drips already occurring for it.
