Pro Tip for those using the Apple Store app.

Prior to Friday morning, go through the configuration of the X you want and then press the little heart icon to mark this as a favorite. Now you can just go to favorites and select the phone and everything will be configured (storage, color, carrier option) and waiting for you to press Continue once it becomes activated.

Then you can cycle back and forth between Favorites and the phone to refresh.
Can you add two phones to favorite and check out the same time?

I don't understand. Cycle how to refresh?

Switch between 2 different apps

Wih Carrier, Full but or upgrade?
[doublepost=1508862048][/doublepost]
click the phone, says unavailable, go back to account page, open phone again, repeat until it says available

I think you have to switch between 2 different apps.

When I go to my account from the iPhone 'add to bag' page and then back to the 'add to bag' page, the page refreshes. I may just switch between 2 apps to avoid risking it. Although, the other way would be a good 5 seconds faster and a hell of a lot easier. Perhaps someone can chime in to confirm the the other method works.

I can just see the iphone X launch night in the war room going like this...

3-2-1-All the lights going green globally, and then a second later all turning amber, and then finally another second later turning red, all done. Time Cook saying "that's it pre orders done boys and girls, have a great weekend and see you all on monday! LOL"

......estimated 20million units for the whole of 2017. That means probably 2-3million units for pre order.

I saw an estimate that they are now running at a 10 million/month production capacity (lets say starting November 1st). That would be about 20 million iphones right there barring any other production delays. However, how many units will have been assembled and ready by October 31st? I still think it is more than 2-3 million, but that is just pure speculation. I think that even Apple doesn't truly know what the demand will be, which is perhaps the reason behind having only a limited amount available at launch to test the waters. At the very least, it'll work as a scarcity tactic to increase demand. Keep in mind that there is a large contingent of people who are crazy about the X and researching nonstop, but will not be buying it. Therefore all the 'buzz' we've been hearing about should be qualified by that fact.

Well i do know this, there will never be 50 mill on opening weekend. The iP6 was 10 mill on opening weekend, the 6s was 13 mill opening weekend. So lets just guess the 7 was 13-15 mill, we will just say 15 to take the high road. Take into account the 8 launch. i doubt the IPX will even hit 10 mill on opening weekend sales. So if the 3 mill pre order stock is right. 3 out of 10 people will get on launch...

Fake photo as I don't see any Monster drinks...

No that will not work cause you wont even be allowed in the app. All you will get is "we will be back shortly" on the front page with no other options to go anywhere...

Me too. And the 2-3 million is an analyst guesstimate. That number did not come from Apple. But yes, it's pretty clear Thursday night is going to be a madhouse with a lot of disappointed customers.

Yea to piggyback off this, best to have everything set up at least 6-7 hours before pre orders go live since you will be completely handcuffed by the store being down for a while prior to pre order.

Yup, and make sure the last place you go to in the app before you close it, before it goes down is your favorites. Then when you open it and its live it will be on your favorites page. one less screen to go to. Wait why did i just say that, no dont do that...lol...

My wife and I are both on IUP and both are pre-approved through my Apple / iTunes account. Friday at 12:01, I'll need to complete two separate transactions, right? Or can I order both at once?

The fact that Apple announced they will have X's for walk-in's is huge! if they didn't have enough supply they wouldn't be having walk-in availability. Last year they didn't have this at all. I think this is a good sign for us pre order guys that stock is much better than believed....

This is great news, although to be honest I was never too concerned about being able to secure one on launch day. I can't imagine that 2-3 million people will beat me to the punch.

I was thinking they did this for publicity. Prevailing thought was supplies would be extremely limited so maybe less people were planning on showing up to stand in line. Maybe Apple PR doesn't want short lines so they're creating the illusion that the stores will have them, thus attracting people to stand in line. Who knows, they may only have one or 2 at "normal" Apple Stores and the big ones will get 3 or 4.

The only time I stood in line was for the 6 Plus. I live in a metro area of about 1M and only one Apple Store within 2 hours. There were probably 60 people in line over night and another 100 by 8 AM. I think I was 13th in line and once they let us in the mall and we were lined up outside the store they told us they had about 100 or so phones between the 6 & 6 Plus. I'd be surprised if they had 10% of that of the X. Even if my order goes through and expected delivery is late December I won't stand in line. Looking at the forecast and it's supposed to be down to 30 degrees overnight. I'm prepared to keep my 7 Plus if I don't get an X by the end of '17.

They still didn't have any in stores for the 7. Which made me stand in line at ATT all night. i am in a small town so when morning hit, i could have came at 6am and still got the phone i wanted instead of waiting 12 hours, dang it...I just hope they have in-store pickup so no waiting for me

You do realize that people who camp out for weeks are considered "walk-ins", right? Only they choose to "walk in" weeks earlier. Tim even said to arrive earlier, as in days/weeks earlier. He's not gonna use words like "line up" or "camp out". It's all considered a "walk-in".
