You do realize that people who camp out for weeks are considered "walk-ins", right? Only they choose to "walk in" weeks earlier. Tim even said to arrive earlier, as in days/weeks earlier. He's not gonna use words like "line up" or "camp out". It's all considered a "walk-in".

we realize what walk in means. i did it last year by waiting all night in front of ATT. Im saying they didnt even have walk ins for the 7 last year at the apple store cause supply was so tight. Well this year they are, so that could be a good sign.

Apple may be promoting walk ins but I suspect supply will still be tight and there will only be a few actually in stock in the stores. Unless you camp out in advance or get there really early you're probably going to be out of luck.

I was up to order an 8, and it was either 12:02 or 12:03. It was pretty close to the announced start time.

Pro Tip for those using the Apple Store app.

Prior to Friday morning, go through the configuration of the X you want and then press the little heart icon to mark this as a favorite. Now you can just go to favorites and select the phone and everything will be configured (storage, color, carrier option) and waiting for you to press Continue once it becomes activated.

Then you can cycle back and forth between Favorites and the phone to refresh.

I did that, but I need to re-add Apple Care each time.

If you are worried about the extra step to re-add AppleCare+ each time. Just skip it on Friday and add it later. You can call and add it before your iPhone ships or even after you receive it.

We just don't know if the ~25 seconds for AppleCare+ means no impact in delivery date or 30 or more days.

baahah i didn't even notice that...its my PTSD affecting my brain...
