Why not transition directly to OLED? Making consumers wasting time and money on a product that will soon be OUTDATED...
Totally agree. If they move to OLED next, what is the point of mini-led?

I'm also not the target audience for the Pro, but I still don't hope it gets a price increase... why would you want it to get a price bump? So other consumers have to pay more?I may be a small minority, but I'm hoping the Pro gets a price bump to even further differentiate from the iPad Airs. It has become more and more evident over the last few years that I am not the intended consumer for the Pro.
Agreed, but not surprising given iPhone Pro is also fragmented, with only Max having the best cameras. The lack of 11 iPP in all these rumors, makes me sad.
No, Apple is concerned with saving themselves money while charging us top dollar. Why not just OLED and be done with it. Not like Apple has ever been concerned with saving us money...
Maybe mini LED > QLED > LEDI for one wouldn't be OLED iPad. I consider Mini LED to be superior to OLED. OLED is just too troublesome with too many issues for just a little benefit. Mini LED can get very close to deep blacks (its just a matter of how many zones they use - the more the better it is) and its tech that has been almost perfected unlike OLED that has too many issues.
So no, it won't be outdated by OLED. It will be outdated by Micro-LED but that is still years away. (When it comes to screen of course)
Careful moderators will suspend you for a month,First of all, DigiTimes has proven time, and time again that is not reliable in the slightest.
but secondly, we‘ve known.
we get it, the iPad‘s are coming in March. You’ve reported on it over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
same with the iMac Pro discontinuation, we get it. It was discontinued. No need to run an article every time it goes out of stock, and then goes back into stock. just update the old articles.
The iPad Pro is coming in March, and the iMac Pro is being discontinued.
if you didn’t know by the several articles they’ve ran about it.
what’s next, you’re gonna tell me the iPhones are launching in the fall? That’s crazy talk
It's not black and white.Maybe mini LED > QLED > LED
but OLED is still better
micro LED is still very far away since they it can't make it small enough (ppi still too large)
Soooooooo bitter, lol.LOL! Also this year they are removing the lightning cable and box. Make sure to bring your own bag to the Apple Store. Need to maximize profit.
You must be a good writer 😂As I type this on my iPhone, My iPad Air 2 stares at me from across the kitchen island. It has no idea how much I’m looking forward to replacing it with the iPad Pro.
Soon, it will be passed down to my children where it will spend its waking moments playing “Henry Danger” and “A Series of Unfortunate Events” on a constant loop.
It is oblivious to its fate. And I am giddy with anticipation.
Because I’ve been following MacRumors for years, and it’s really sad to see them devolving into posting the same three things over, and over, and over again. Why are you here and commenting then? You do know that you don't have to click, right? :-D
Those OLED rumors are extremely unbelievable. I highly doubt that they’re true. What confuses me is that we’ve seen reliable leaks saying that an OLED model will come next year, so it’s not as though Apple’s against using OLED in tablets. It looks like the miniLED phase is temporary. Is there really a point in switching to a new technology just as a one year stop-gap?
Wait, so you want them to increase the price, just to make “your” decision to purchase the iPad Air more valid?I may be a small minority, but I'm hoping the Pro gets a price bump to even further differentiate from the iPad Airs. It has become more and more evident over the last few years that I am not the intended consumer for the Pro.
There are a lot of problems with OLED in iPad sized products that mini LED just doesn’t haveWhy not transition directly to OLED? Making consumers waste time and money on a product that will soon be OUTDATED...
Sounds like you’re looking for the 16 inch MacBook Pro.I own a 12.9” iPad Pro. What I really want is a bigger screen.
I used to think that too. Once I realized I wanted to read sheet music off of my iPad, the 12.9” became the only choice. The 12.9” is about the same size as a sheet of letter paper, and any smaller is just too small such applications. What the hell Apple...? Why can’t they also do this with the 10.5” iPad Pro?
The 12.9” iPad Pro is so ludicrously large I don’t understand it. At that point you might as well use a laptop. It’s going to be extraordinarily aggravating if they don’t bring mini-LED to the smaller model

If you need/want a MacBook, strongly consider the Air. It is a great system and the battery life is fantastic. I use it for several hours every day and charge only once or twice a week. And the M1 processor is fast. My $999 base (8GB, 256GB SSD) MB Air is faster than my 2019 16" MBP (32 GB, 1 TB SSD) was at most basic tasks like browsing, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.I’ve got my fingers crossed that Apple does announce a new iPad Pro this month, so I can make my decision on whether to upgrade from my 2018 iPP or instead pick up an M1 Air (to replace my ancient 2013 rMBP 15”). What I’m most curious about is what they’re going to get for battery life out of the new model. It’s the one thing that is pushing me towards the M1 MBA. Micro LED likely won’t help much, unless its thinner form allows for a thicker battery.
