It's stunning for sure and I'm coming from a 7 Plus but despite the footprint being similar, the flat sides, all screen front and weight make this too big a phone for me. Also the glass back and steel band make my hands sweat! Not sure what I expected but had to try it. Going to try a standard 12 for less weight and aluminium rails. 🤦♂️

That’s right and that’s what worried me when I ordered it so mine is sat on the table I haven’t even opened it as I’m taking it back tomorrow and have a 12 pro on order
Upgraded from XR. Loving it. Probably helps that I’m 6’4 with larger than normal hands.
I'm going from an XS Max to the 12 Pro Max. I'm at work so my phone is sitting at home, can't wait to get my hands on it! Pacific Blue!

Yep, mine just arrived. Upgraded from 11PM
Mine (512 Blue) is now pretty much set up and synced ..... very happy with this ! .... I’ve moved from an 11PM and yes it’s slightly bigger but IMHO not really that much bigger ....clearly others are shocked coming from an 11PM but not sure why 🤷🏼♂️
As always it comes down to personal preference and your use case.
Absolutely perfect device for me ..... I’m currently using it in a blue silicone case and it looks nice. I’ve also bought a Plum, Citrus pink and a blue leather .... I’ll alternate between those and no case.
just having some issues moving a secondary esim but that’s the only issue I’ve encountered.

It’s bigger by 1.9mm vertically, 0.2mm wider and is thinner by 0.7mm.
Not sure would argue it’s bigger, apart from the height but less than 2mm is barely noticeable and certainly not unless you have them say next to each other.
No reason to not have split screen multitasking at this point!
I had a terrible chunky case on my XS Max so the 12 Pro Max with the leather case actually feels a lot smaller in my hand.
That’s all true but it’s the rounded vs squared that make this phone feel massive. I’m going to test it out for a few days and see what I think. No harm in that.
Got mine this morning. Size is totally fine if you are accustomed to previous Plus/Max devices as I am.

I think it's definitely the box shape. The previous generations allow your hand to wrap around the phone edges.
Well, it is bigger by numbers. It looks bigger and it feels bigger. So what else is there to say? For some this might be fine, for some it's not. It is a personal choice. And yes, I agree: 2mm doesn't seem like a lot. But the 11 has curved edges and this makes all the difference in grip and appearence. The display glass of the 11 PM is noticeably smaller than that of the 12.
I hate third party cases (or cases in general) but throw on a Totallee clear case (smaller , thinner, and tackier than Apples) and it will feel like the greatest mobile device you ever laid hands on.
Ive always has the largest iPhones since they started making the big ones. It doesn't feel that much bigger than my 11 Pro Max with both in hand. The new design on the 12 makes it more grippy and easier to hold IMO. This is about my limit though. Any bigger and I wouldn't be interested.
The only iphones i've ever owned were their plus/max size models. From the 6s+ on up. I've never once wish I got a smaller one.

yeah at first i was going to just go with the regular Pro size but with the pandemic etc. and just being around the house, why not have a mini ipad?

I got my 12 Pro Max at 9:30am this morning (in the UK) and have been using the last 11 hours and absolutely love. I am coming from a 11 Pro and did fear it would be too big, but no I find its larger size no problem. I love the square stainless steel sides, the feel in the hand and also the incredible display. Viewing anything is a lot more enjoyable and immersive. The sound from the speakers is I think better as well. I never watched video on my 11 Pro, but have now put YouTube and Netflix on my new 12 Max. I am sure I will watch video on this larger screen.
The cameras stick out noticeably more at the back than the 11 Pro. I do like using my iPhone naked, but think I will get the new leather sleeve for carrying and to protect the back if I put down on a hard surface anytime.
All in all the 12 Pro Max is much better than I expected. I think my favourite iPhone to date.

I've been using the Plus/Max phones since Apple started making them I can't go back to a smaller phone! My sister went from a 7 Plus to an 11 Pro and it was too small, she had to trade it in for the Pro Max. I absolutely cannot WAIT to get my hands on this bad boy! It's lonely sitting at home right now, this work day needs to end...
