I'm having this issue too, using an Apple Silcone case. I don' seem to notice it when I take the case off though?
hmm i have second party silicone case like apple, hmmm. im changing to Pitaka soon. lol that be awesome if case is trully what that is. ill test. :p

Just FYI, I’ve had this issue only on my iPhone 12 Pro (iPhone 11 Pro did not exhibit this issue) but I am on my second 12 Pro because the mic/speaker went out on my launch day phone. Both exhibit the issue so it does not seem to be hardware based and a swap is unlikely to make an impact.
what do you know. went to my moms yesterday and decided to try her 11 pro max. i must of hit apps for 5min and not one damn stutter. I was so upset. Here i am with $1100 brand new phone and previous gen destroys it.
Also to mention, it was night time so i tried video calling through whatsapp and noticed my camera while in ringing mode was visiblly slower than hers on 11max. Like ive actually went back and forth 5 times on each phone to call my bother and test it. again while in ringing .... lol my brother never picked up
back to the reply. I was thinking returning the phone for a new one but now that you mention mic problems, im thinking who knows what waits for me with a new one. errrr

I have the same Apple leather case on my 12 pro and 12 pro max. My max does not stutter at all

I wonder if there is some app when opened leaks something in memory causing the issue?maybe I just haven’t launched it yet on my new max but not one stutter since Friday and it was all the time on my 12 pro. Same restore etc.

Hm, give it time, maybe. When I upgraded my 12 Pro to 14.2 I didn’t see the stutter for a full 24 hours. Seems to get worse for me the longer it’s on.

It’s weird but so far without the case I don’t think I have stutters. Lol. I’m sure it’s mental. They will be back. It can’t be the case. Will keep monitoring as well

ps. God it feels so good without the case :)

Just tried using the phone without the case and without the apple wallet attachment - stuttering is still there.

I don’t want to spam this thread but so far half a day caseless and no stutter. Very odd to say the least.

Yeah I went caseless for a few days in the first 2 weeks of having the phone but the stutter was still there.

Never had a case. Had stutter from launch day.

I haven’t had notable stutter since iOS 14.3 beta. I haven’t been looking for it, but haven’t noticed it in day to day usage.

Ditto, had the phone since launch day, never used a case. FWIW it seems like the stutter happens most frequently or is the worst after using Safari, especially if it's been in the background for a long time

reporting back. Been using my max hardcore since fri. No reboots no stutter. I don’t get it.

12 Pro Max 256 on 14.3, I am getting the “pause” in the animation when going home. Was happening on my 12 Pro too.

Don’t know why it’s gone for me. I wonder if it’s some app we all have in common?
My stutter seems to be gone on 14.3 and I didn’t delete any apps from when I was on 14.2. Seems most people don’t get a resolution with 14.3 though. Mine was so bad it was legitimately throwing me into recent apps 1/5 times

Insane this thread keeps growing and we’re talking about the latest iPhone..

iPhone 12 Pro here: still stuttering when closing apps

Running iOS 14.2 on the 12 Pro, I've tried toggling a number of settings, but have experienced multiple stutters in each test:
- Bluetooth off
- Location Services off
- Airplane Mode on
- Handoff off
- Siri off
- Wallpaper Perspective Zoom off
- All widgets removed
Updated my first post with some settings I've tried toggling, with no change.

Would be great if we could tag someone from MacRumors and get help from them to connect with Apple to get some comment on this..

Anyone knows how to do this?

Same here, iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 14.2.... having stutter since day one. It's very annoying considering that is a new device, the issue is very noticeable and not been solved with the latest update! My previous iPhone X was smoother!!!
