Sorry to bring this thread back to life but is it okay to leave it on charge on overnight?
Yes, phones these days will not overcharge and damage the battery if left plugged in. I think the vast majority of smartphone users use their phone during the day, and charge overnight anyways.

I leave it on overnight with the 5W charger, was just wondering about the 12W?
 
I have used a 12w iPad charger to charge my iPhone 6 (4.7") since early 2015 after discovering this thread. No problems whatsoever. It will charge at a rate of almost 50% per hour until it hits ~90% and then it slows to a "trickle" charging rate that is slower. I have been very pleased.

It doesn't make a difference. Once it's fully charged it stops charging with whatever charger you're using. Whether it's 5/10/12 watts.
