As noted by CNET's Roger Cheng and AllThingsD, Sprint has confirmed that it will indeed be offering unlimited data for the iPhone when it launches on the carrier.
"We will be offering the benefit of our unlimited plans that start at just $69.99," said spokeswoman Michelle Leff Mermelstein. Sprint's $69.99 plan includes unlimited data and 450 voice minutes as well as unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling. Unlimited calling and data costs $99 a month.
The new iPhone 4S is scheduled to debut on Sprint, AT&T and Verizon in the United States on Friday, October 14th, with pre-orders beginning this Friday, October 7th. Sprint will also join AT&T and Verizon in offering the low-capacity 8 GB iPhone 4, with information on Apple's site listing Sprint's availability for that device as "coming soon".

Sprint has been surprisingly quiet since yesterday considering that it has reportedly committed to purchase billions of dollars' worth of iPhones from Apple, with no mention of the iPhone yet appearing on the carrier's website. AllThingsD notes that Sprint is in fact "very excited" to begin offering the iPhone, but is making sure all of its plans are in order before beginning its promotional blitz.

CDMA limitations.

Will voice and data usage be mutually exclusive, as with Verizon?

I hope Sprint continues to update their network. It's so slow here, that unlimited data is pretty much useless.

This could be good competition for those on other carriers. I wonder how long this will last.

They should have been ready

Given the fact that they knew when the iPhone even was going to be, Sprint should have taken advantage of all the publicity from yesterday and have launched their promotions in the afternoon.

Looks like they dropped the ball on that one.

anyone know of a reliable website that compares service of the major carriers in a particular area?

I had good service with AT&T in NYC when I last had an iPhone (3G), Verizon is great here. No idea how good Sprint is though.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X; en_US) AppleWebKit (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile [FBAN/FBForIPhone;FBAV/3.5a;FBBV/3500;FBDV/iPhone3,1;FBMD/iPhone;FBSN/iPhone OS;FBSV/5.0;FBSS/2; FBCR/AT&T;FBID/phone;FBLC/en_US])

No text in this plan? What happened to the " true unlimited " carrier that always talks about giving all they can. Regardless I'm switching to them from AT&T but I thought it would be 69$ for unlimited data & SMS. Unless data in their eyes means web & SMS? Help anyone?

That's definitely a lot less than the $100+/- per iPhone I roughly pay on my currently family plan with AT&T.

My current bill for 2 iPhone 4's plus a dumbphone = $230 a month or so.

Yes, they are with all carriers despite how the bundling promotions are setup.
I think you read it wrong. Is English your second language?

CDMA handsets cannot offer data services while you are on a call unless if you are connected to a Wifi network.

Yeah, remember when Verizon offered unlimited data when the iPhone hit their network? Good times. Good times.

$69.99?

Aren't they forgetting the $10/month "premium" fee for 3G and 4G devices?

I assumed that included the iPhone.

The iPhone seems to be the way to phase out unlimited data. Get it while you can! Oh wait, it doesn't matter because once you cross the 2GB "limit" you get throttled.

Their current 69.99 plan is called "Everything Data" and includes unlimited data, unlimited messaging, and 450 anytime minutes. So I'm assuming they're just going to offer the same plans for the iPhone that they do with other phones :)

So, unlimited as long as you use voice OR data. I guess Sprint does not need to worry about overloading their network (mass exodus of users in recent years) and CDMA is the slow bottleneck of entry.

Quick question. The free turn by turn navigation I use on my Evo, is that a Sprint feature or Android?
Will the 4s be able to use this feature if it is Sprint?
I think it was called TelNav or something.

New Yorkers with Sprint, how's the service?

also, how much would it be after taxes and fees?

People say there are only 450 minutes...but UNLIMITED mobile to mobile...so I doubt most people talk aver 450 minutes to a landline.

I'm on a family plan with Verizon. I have Unlimited Text, Data, and share 1400 minutes with all 5 people on my family plan.

We have 10 landlines added to our plan (we get those for free) and have free Verizon to Verizon calling.

All together it cost $213 a month...is that a good deal?

I'm on with my parents so they foot the bill. But I don't know if a better long term plan would be to go with Sprint for $69.99.

Let me know what you think.
