I don't think you have to worry. a 16:9 ratio is really unsuitable for laptop. A desktop maybe, but not a laptop.I really hope apple doesn't go down the road of the the 16:9 screen's. I'd be very upset.

It would be unsuitable for me. Perhaps I should have clarified that. I don't want a wider laptop, I want more narrow. The way I picture it, and have seen on 16:9 laptops, there is so much space between the edges of the keyboard and the edges of the case. I hate that. That is quite an ignorant answer.
It isn't the aspect ratio, it is the resolution and screen size that would make the screen unsuitable for a laptop. A 16" 16:9 screen would be almost identical to a 15" screen only wider. That wouldn't be unsuitable.

Correct! Which is why I have the more narrow MacBook. So you're not a fan of the current MacBook Pro's that have a huge speaker grill going from the edge of the keyboard to the edge of the casing? Even though the speakers are not that size?

Let me bring you back to the original discussion. A 16:9 aspect ratio is unsuitable for me. That ratio will either widen the laptop (which I hate) or shorten the screen (which I would also hate). Keeping the current aspect ratio of the current MacBook line would keep the machine's dimension relatively the same. Then it just proves that it isn't the aspec ratio that causes that, it is just the screen size.

Some people just can't understand that others value their vertical space.
So, a 16:9 to 16:10 comparison (source: Wikipedia). Both are fine:
I see a big difference. And the problem is, the difference actually matters more on smaller screen. Simply because one of the dimensions becomes too small. I look at MB or MBA and it seems smallish; I look at an old 12" Fujitsu and it's fine, though could use a higher resolution. I used to think 19" displays were an overkill, but that was when they were 4:3 - I like 22" or 23" now. It really depends on size.
Sorry, but I'm not going to continue beating a dead horse: I don't like 16:9 and you want to make love to it. We're not going to convince each other differently. So to sum up, any laptop bigger than 13" you will hate.

I like it better than 16:9What do you think about 4:3 ratio?
