I just spoke with a different Apple Store and they said that it is Sata II:confused: , They checked on the macbook pro 13 inch in the store and it was 3.0 GBit.
Regarding the question, I was hoping to buy an SSD, but because of the restriction I am now thinking about buying an HDD.

was prob a macbook...they f'ed up...

In norway a guy bought a MacBook Pro 13" with 2,53 GHz and a HDD and he has confirmed that the MBP has 3Gbit(SATA II)

Screenshot ? Not that I disbelieve - but if this was just a glitch that affected *some* MBPs then its nice knowing what week nos are affected ;)

I emailed steve jobs the other night and just got a response from a lady at executive relations asking for my to provide her with an phone number so she can contact me. I totally was not expecting a reply at all.

sweet! update us after your hear from her!

come on guys... of course he read it wrong or looked at the wrong machine.. there isn't a single confirmed report, worldwide, of a new, mid-09, 13" or 15" MBP having a sata 2 connection.

I have this feeling that this is just a way of making Snow Leopard look good. If Snow Leopard enables SATA 2 somehow then the speed differences on SSD drives between leopard and snow leopard would look better and may entice more people to buy it. That's my very cynical view anyway.

and very wrong view too.. quite a few people have already installed snow leopard and it didn't change anything.

He could have looked at the controller capabilities and not the HD speed. Linux, Windows, and OS X all report that the controller is SATA-II capable and all three OSs run the HD at SATA-I speeds.
