hi.. i upgrade every year and had an iPhone 12 for the past year.. i found it really good but poor on battery life.

this year i bought a 13 pro sierra blue on day one.. and yesterday i returned it and went with a blue 13..

here are my impressions:

1- aluminum design of 13 is to me more premium and i prefer it (no other apple product use the iphone pro language with the steel, only the watch)
2- 13 pro is too heavy, it is uncomfortable, tell me what you want.. the 13 is unbalanced, while the pro max is heavy but balanced.. but steel is not the best solution for a phone i think (so next year titanium?) 13 is perfect with 170 grams
3- 120hz is a gimmick.. i also find the 13 more responsive to swipes and touch... it is only me? like the 120hz slow down a little little bit animations
4- the battery of the 13 is better than the pro and is more linear in use, the 13 pro had some big battery loss.. maybe again depending on 120 hz use?
5- photos are the same, it is hard to tell a difference... obviously 13 lacks telephoto

other two things:
6- reception is better on 13 than on pro... maybe the steel is a little little bit worse for antenna?
7- i was at the apple store yesterday.. a lot of people ask for a black phone.. it doesn't matter if it is pro or normal but a lot of people want black phones.. and at the moment the only one black is the 13.. it lacks a 13 pro black or matte black

I really like how we have choices within the iPhone lineup and you’re not sacrificing performance.

Personally, I have a 13 primarily for the weight (and camera bump) savings. The main sensor on this phone is incredible too. Subjectively, I also think the regular 13 looks better. This is my first time with the OEM leather case and I think it looks awesome with the relatively smaller camera bump.

I haven’t upgraded from iPhone 12, but I had the same thoughts about the Pro. Yes, I want the greatest model, but the cost… Keeping the 12 for a while.

I enjoy the camera bump. I think it actually makes the phone look better than if it were flush - looks more Pro, if you will.

I don’t know what you’re talking about, the steel is beautiful and has an absolutely premium look and feel - some of that coming from the added weight. Too light and it feels like a toy…

120hz is something that’s actually wowed me. I played around with my 11 I’m trading in and wow, what an incredible difference. You can really see the stutter in animations coming from the 13 Pro.

All that being said, Apple knows their audience and tries to make a phone for everyone. Glad you’ve found your enjoyment out of the 13.

🤔🤔 things I tell myself to sleep better at night 😂😂😂😂
So the OP just can’t have a different opinion than you? Did he return the Pro model because he just simply couldn’t afford it as well? Get a grip, guy. When I was making my decision, I felt the same aspects were cons. The weight, size, and camera bump were all things I was no longer willing to deal with. The telephoto lens isn’t a must for everyone, so paying more for it simply doesn’t make sense for a lot of people.

So you “enjoy the camera bump”?. You also love the feel of the added weight? Why would someone welcome two things that make a product, that you hold in your hand or pocket, harder to deal with? That’s like me saying that I love that this forum can’t get its sheet together, and fix the background activity that continually makes my phone heat up and consume power. Love it.

My guess is that you’ll be posting here that you enjoy a lighter phone, and a flush camera, when it eventually happens again.

Yes, that is what I said. I feel sorry for the type of person that thinks an extra ounce makes a phone “harder to deal with.” Give me a break.

Not loving the camera bumps on the pro I think apple could of done better IMHO.

I am really liking the 13 PM, and my wife the 13 Pro. We normally upgrade every two years, but we're in agreement that if Apple eliminates the bump next year, then we may just go ahead and change it out.

The bump is a pretty big difference coming from the 11's.

Definitely wouldn’t give up my 13 Pro Max. I would take a regular 13 as a back up phone though to replace my current back up, an iPhone 11

Dumb question here, I'm sure: This may be a generational thing for me but - am I the only one who doesn't understand the "return" phenomenon? What i mean is: I never return things I have bought. I would if it was faulty, or it didn't fit in my car (like a TV or something), or it turned out I couldn't afford it and had major regret. Do people nowadays buy things primarily to help decide what they will *keep*, and therefore very often end up returning thing? I have had iPhones since the 4. Never once returned a phone.

I think it’s irrational for someone to think it’s hard to hold a phone.
I've gotta agree here. Every year I see people complain about how heavy these phones are. If you have a condition that results in pain from using a heavier device, fine. That makes sense. But I find it comical that people gripe about a few ounces (or grams) being added for the benefit of battery life. I dunno, maybe I'd notice it more if I lived life in sweatpants and/or basketball shorts.

these are real world APPLE PROBLEMS!
