Heavy??? Ok… your joking, right? If you think it’s heavy, then you suffer from Wussatosis! LOL

I have the 13 pro max, the weight is just right. The only way to shed weight is to make a plastic phone, we don’t want a plastic iPhone, if that’s what you have in mind.
Anyone remember the 5C ??

Generally speaking, women prefer big phones because they carry their phones in their bags, not pockets. Men on the other hand don’t have bags and carry their phones in pockets.

As for usability, big phones are hard to use with one hand but offer larger displays, and people over certain age prefer large displays.

There is no such thing as one size fits all.

I find my 13 Pro borderline acceptable yet my wife finds it small and she went for the Pro Max. If the Mini had the same camera, it would be the perfect size and weight for me.

Heavy is a 100% subjective word. To give your opinion, you don’t need to try to invalidate others’.

I believe OP’s question was not really how to shed weight, but just if others have had the same issues and gotten used to it. But to respond to you, the other ways to shed weight are to get rid of the glass back if wireless charging isn’t a priority (or if there’s a way to do it without glass), or simply downsize the phone. These, or even plastic, are not invalid preferences, though likelihood is a completely different story.

Who complains for no reason? People complain because they have complaints, whether big or small/petty (subjective). Also in this case, are you saying OP’s wrist pain is “no reason”?

Not quite sure, are you saying OP asking if others have had the same issues but gotten used to it is borderline trolling? Weight is a very common complaint about phones these days, by the way.
Good insight. I had the 13 Pro, and it is oddly weighted, and to me feels “heavier” in the hand then the 13 PM I traded it in for. Obviously the weight is more evenly distributed through the 13 PM so it doesn’t feel so dense in the hand. Loved the smaller form factor of the 13 Pro but just something about that hand feel/weight threw me off. In the end, this is very subjective and different for everyone, and that’s the beauty of having choices :)

The X/XS/11Pro is easier to handle than the 12/13 size. That being said, the non pro 13 feels lighter in the hand, despite being the same 6.1 size.

These days most women carry their phones in their back pockets from what I’ve seen.

Well… I have two iPhone 13 pro max phones and I carry both with me daily. One in my shirt pocket in a case, the other in a cross body shoulder bag. So yes, guys do use bags when necessary. My wife prefers the 6.1” iPhone. The contents of my bag include three battery banks, charging cables, extra glass screen protectors, a knife, magnets (never know when you’ll need a strong magnet). My magnets come in handy for removing those hook locks that keep the customer from taking merchandise without consulting with a store clerk first, and other iPhone accessories such as cases and photo gear. I don’t like the iPhone in my pant pocket. I see a lot of guys that put the iPhone in their front pocket, bad idea. A co worker does and his is covered in lint / dust. He just recently got it and now it looks worn and old as lint is everywhere. For many, it’s just a phone. For me, it’s my camera(s) and they are well taken care of. I wipe my iPhone down with a damp detail cloth several times a day, I don’t like dirt or fingerprints on my iPhone. This is why I have a high resale price on my iPhone when I choose to sell it, still looks new.
To carry two iPhones is easy for me. I actually like the iPhone to be heavy and thick. For a while Apple was making them too thin and that made them fragile. Thicker means they have more room to improve on the camera and use larger sensors.

The other thing that I can realistically see Apple doing is to replace stainless steel with titanium. That's not gonna be a cheap proposition though.

Titanium is as light as Aluminum and as strong as Steel however, it is not as scratch resistant as steel if not Anodized. It would be hard to distinguish from Anodized Aluminum. So what added benefit would be achieved with Titanium other than the “premium“ moniker is questionable.

Aluminum, titanium, are also lighter. Apple can use titanium.

Although I personally don’t mind plastic (good ones), it’s not the only way.

Possible, but I don’t see too many, and with a big phone it is rather uncomfortable, especially while sitting.

Its the fashion here in the U.K., it seems the majority of women / girls with jeans or trousers has a phone half sticking out their back pockets, you can miss them! And I do always wonder how many are stolen? But it’s fashion to wear tight jeans etc so it’s fashion to have a large phone in the back pocket.

Considering how, in the near future, the iPhone seems to be tending towards heavier weight due to more complex internals (inevitably larger batteries, complete periscope lens system rumored in a year or two, etc.) I don't see much option. There's already quite a few people who find it heavy and if you keep the same body with more things stuffed in there, it'll only get worse before everyone starts feeling the weight.

While I agree that anodized or brushed titanium and aluminium look similar, the core difference in the material is actually quite a bit more evident than one might expect. I am a casual watch collector and I've seen some quality titanium cases (even in <$100 watches) that you most certainly wouldn't ever mistake for aluminium. It just looks and feels different on a fundamental level, even though what you may describe on paper may be identical to aluminium.

You bring up a good point about the scratch resistance though. No way of getting around basic physics.

I don't think we need to worry about Apple leveraging the "premium" moniker, that has always been their bread and butter lol.

I had a 13 pro for 6 months and loved the features but hated the size and weight. Opted to get something smaller and after looking at my option and typical usage I went with a SE3. The only thing I’m missing out on from the mini (the only other option) is OLED and the wide camera. Yes OLED is awesome but Apple’s LCD panels are still really nice. And sure the ultra wide camera is cool but I rarely used it on my pro. And to be honest I forgot how much I really like touchID and a home button.

13 Pro too big and heavy anyone?
*Laughs in 13 Pro Max*

Depending on the case I have on my phone, it can get up to 300+ grams (0.66 lbs). If I have my magsafe wallet on the back with 2 cards in it then it can jump up to 360+ grams! (0.79 lbs) 😲

But… the human brain is remarkably adaptable. The 13 Pro Max feels great in my hand just like the 12 Pro Max did before it. While I wouldn’t mind if Apple did away with the heavy stainless steel frame for a lighter material like aluminum or titanium, it’s not a deal breaker in the slightest since I want a device with the biggest screen, top notch cameras, and best battery life.

Most of the time when people get new phones they say “OMG how do you guys do it? It feels so small/big/heavy/weird/etc” simply because they just haven’t given themselves enough time to get used to it.

That's the weight of the iPad mini! The iPad mini feels lighter because the weight is spread out over a thin slab
