I'm having a hard time believing some could have 13 truly defective iPads in a row. And also having a hard time believing someone would return something 13 times in a row. At what point do you just ask for a refund and move on?

I totally agree. I think this thread is bogus.

This thread is such BS. If you are not happy after this many iPads you need to stop looking at how defective the iPad is and you need to start looking a YOURSELF!

Give us a break and go to Android or better yet a Kindle;)

Dude isn't happy with his iPad. He returns it xx times. Apple keeps letting him. This is between him and Apple. What business is it of yours? And why do you get so bloody outraged about it? What does "give us a break" even mean? How is this guy's dealings with Apple any skin off your back?

Speaking of looking at yourself...

My 1st has a dead pixel and yellow tint. So I returned because of the dead pixel but not the yellow tint. Now mine new iPad, still have yellow tint. But come on.. If you forget all this issues, you won't notice at all when you use it. Nothing is perfect, even if you say you have a perfect iPad, there is always something on it, you just won't able to see it in your eyes...

Theres actually a few (more than 5) claiming multiple retuns. I highly doubt theyre making bogus claims. Post count can tell you a lot. Most of these folks are vets here.

My comment about being bogus is not saying that I don't believe that the new iPad has had some quality issues. But I'm not buying into someone returning 13 times. That just doesn't make sense either from the company's standpoint or from the consumer's.

I can understand that. I personally don't have the time to make returns like that so I go by the 3 Strikes Rule. I need that Refund after the 3rd one.

Thankfully my launch pre-ordered one is within spec. I have seen a apple store with a bad batch of iPhone 4s's meaning all of them suffered the same exact screen problem so I can relate.

I can always count you being on the side of the sick and OCD.

If this person got that many he was unhappy with, I think there is no way Apple can make him happy and he/she needs to move on. :p

This is way beyond reasonable no matter what YOU think!

----------

Right. Hope we'll get some reaction or statement from Apple soon about these issues! :apple:

I know what Apple would like to say to this person:p

----------

Sorry but I'm calling bull^#t on this one. Propaganda...

I wish it were unfortunately this is what some of the members do here for entertainment. :(

We all pay more because of this!! (I could not resist saying this as it really ticks the OCD and OCD supporters OFF!) LOL!

Still waiting to hear why you care and why it makes you so mad.

Mad? I am not mad in the least. I enjoy this. Crazy people have always entertained me. This is all BS and none of it should be taken seriously.

Are you taking yourself seriously?

You should not:p

I am convinced that my Apple store had a bad batch of iPads with yellow screens. I have seen other iPads that didn't exhibit any problems. I actually had one with a fantastic screen - the glass was just popped out of the frame at the bottom. It was the second iPad (the first came in the mail and had a large scratch in the LCD), and I was really happy with it until a friend pointed out the glass. I wish I'd never seen the glass issue because the screen was truly great. After that, I knew there were really great displays out there and I wasn't going to settle for an uneven screen, yellowing, dark splotches, or terrible backlight bleed.

Unless they were just super nice (which is always possible), every time I took it to the Genuis Bar, they noticed the problem right away and exchanged it without any hesitation.

Anyhow, I got the refund, and am still a loyal Apple customer because of their fantastic customer service. I have a ton of their stuff that I am very happy with, and hope that the iPad experience is the last bad one that I have.

This thread would probably be dead or dying if it wasn't for all the doctors here. :p

13 returns is a little much, but....

I have returned 2 and the one I have has a magenta screen, which at least is uniform. In my family, we have 4 I Phones, 3 I Pads, numerous I Pods and 1 Mac Pro. Never had to return one or had a problem with one until now.

You can say what you want, or call people OCD, but this product screen wise was not ready for prime time and is the only problematic Apple product I have owned. I can live with it and it is better than the android crap, but I am disappointed with Apple and it's QC on this tablet.

Which makes you a sick person and a sadist. Well done. At least you have the courage to admit you have this sickness. FYI, this is a very real psychological problem. :)

They should ban the OP from the Apple Store and Apple products all together. After two bad iPads, I would just say (f) it and not get one at all.

Here's one more of the screens I have had

Found this in my iPhone's camera roll. This screen turned blue toward the bottom (or left side in this portrait view). Oddly, this screen started out looking pretty good. After a few days, this is what it looked like.

Interesting that you say it started off looking good, because I thought I had found an acceptable one but in the past few days I feel as if the pink/green cast is becoming more noticeable.

The kid's avatar pretty much sums it up.

It's hardly only between Apple and him. If true he did return thirteen iPads it drives the overal price up on the product. I find this story stretches the imagination. Secondly the op posted his story on this forum and opened himself up to discussion...whether the feedback to him is positive or negative.

i don't understand why these people don't give up, so many threads like this nowadays...

So you're saying if someone has an issue, they shouldn't post about it, shouldn't let others kow, should just return it and keep quiet? You are on the wrong website my friend.

Yeah, when I first got this one I was pretty happy with it. I had settled on it being a keeper. But after a few days the blue was very prominent. This picture doesn't even show it as bad as it got. A couple days after this pic was taken, I went to the Apple Store and didn't even tell the genius bar guy what was wrong. I just handed it to him, and he said something to effect of "whoa! it's blue!"

It's not going to drive the price of the product up. Prices for the iPad have stayed pretty much the same, and I don't think they could get away with raising the prices. I hope that the amount of yellow and/or uneven iPads I sent back helps Apple tighten up their QC so that others don't have the same issue.

I care very little whether I get negative feedback here. I was only looking to share my experience, as I've seen some others have had a similar experience. My hope is that people don't settle for crap so that Apple doesn't get lax with their quality. Like I've stated before, I'm a big fan of Apple. I like their stuff, I have a lot of it that has never given me a problem.
