Oh no. Don’t force me to go 12.9“ iPad Pro just to get handy iPad pro features, such as 120hz screen And better support for Apple Pencil, alongside higher storage options (512GB and above). 11” is the largest size that two hand landscape typing is still possible While remain portable enough that I can still hold it to play The game on the go. 12.9“ would be impossible.

This will be a VERY niche product. For the price this will cost with a keyboard what is the draw for most people over a MBA M2 that the currently cheaper and more portable 12.9 wouldn’t offer? This will continue the great for artists who need a larger canvas theme but for everyone else… ?
There are many people that prefer iPadOS over macOS.

In case you are not aware of (or not care, or both), Samsung has Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, which is 14.6 inches. That model is the most popular out of all Galaxy Tab model. So Apple might have taken notes on that.

taken notes on making the screen bigger?

Doubt it.

We do know Samsung took notes on just about all that apple has done though. :p

Yeah, while there may be a need for a larger iPad I really don’t see it being a big seller especially at the price point it would demand. I already find the 12.9” way too big for my use.

I understand the 12.9” size being replaced by the 14.1”. It’s already something akin to a laptop replacement for many people.

On the other hand, Apple should be careful about making the 11” size too much bigger, as people expect portability that goes beyond what can be expected from a mainstream laptop. Many people also use the 11” as a companion / media consumption device in situations where it’s not as practical to carry around a large laptop.

Probably 12 and 14 inches for iPad Pro and 11 for iPad Air
They’ll keep the step-child Pro in the smallest size while its two bigger brothers get all the nice features a la the exact same thing they’re doing with the 13” MacBook “Pro” - it basically sticks around as a rung on the pricing ladder to convince you to be upsold

Stop being a fanboy and look at the real facts. Yes, Samsung copied off a lot from Apple, but so happened the other way, as well. There is nothing wrong with it, really, as long as the "copy" is also an "improvement."

The big differentiator will be getting the M2 on the 11 inch pro vs the M1 on the Air

Apple is reportedly developing an iPad Pro with a 14.1-inch mini-LED display, according to Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young.

On Twitter, Young claimed that this larger iPad Pro model will feature a mini-LED display and ProMotion like the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro:

The rumor was first shared by the hit-and-miss Twitter leaker known as "Majin Bu" yesterday, who said that Apple is developing a 14.1-inch iPad Pro model with the M2 chip, configured with 512GB of storage and 16GB of memory as standard:

Majin Bu also mentioned other upcoming iPad Pro models, saying that "no major changes" are expected for the 11-inch model, while the 12.9-inch model may feature slimmer bezels around the display. Majin Bu also implied that new features in iPadOS 16, such as Stage Manager and Display Zoom, suggest that there is a clearer use case for an iPad Pro with an even larger display.

Young now seems to have supported Majin Bu's rumor about the existence of a 14.1-inch iPad Pro. Young has revealed a wide range of accurate insights into Apple's plans, such as the iPhone 13 Pro's ProMotion display, the display size and bezels of the sixth-generation iPad mini, the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro's mini-LED displays with ProMotion, and more, so his comments are worth taking seriously.

While Majin Bu suggested that new iPad Pro models could be unveiled at an Apple event in October or November this year, Young was unsure of launch timing, saying that early 2023 "may be more likely."

The first report about even larger iPad Pro models came from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman last year. In the first edition of his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman said Apple was exploring iPads with larger displays:

The latest rumor about a 14.1-inch iPad Pro from Majin Bu and Young, in addition to Gurman's previous comments, suggest that an even larger iPad Pro model is more likely to emerge than previously thought and could arrive sooner rather than later. More immediately, Apple is expected to launch new iPad Pro models with wireless charging.

So smaller bezels on the 12.9 but no change to iPad 11 Pro? Sounds a bit like a wasted opportunity.
12.9 in Midnight blue will be the one to go for.

Stop thinking a company is taking notes when all they are doing is obvious.

Making a screen bigger.

Would like something closer to 10” personally. The mini is just a hair too small (and not pro) and 11” becomes just a bit too big and heavy for my tastes.

Wait till you find out with the OtterBox case cost. o_O
Hopefully this device will be dual boot.

At over 14" is no longer an very mobile device...so in that regard they should made it 16 or 17" if they already go even bigger

I don’t even want to know the price of the Magic Keyboard for the 14-inch iPad. Let me guess, they will finally add a top row of function keys but it will only be available for the 14-inch MK.
Put it this way; a 14" iPad and Magic Keyboard case combo will almost certainly be in 14" MBP territory. At which point one must ask, is it worth it just for a touchscreen? Maybe to some it is.

So basically a tablet with an m1 pro display with a m2 cpu. I bet its going to be around 2k. Might be nice for digital painting as someone else said here. Procreate looks like a nice app
