Yep, that is pretty big, but the trick with bigger iPads is that you hold them differently (more like a painter's palette).I’d go for the 12.9” with reduced bezels, that sounds awesome. 14.1” sounds a bit too heavy / unwieldy for my tastes in an iPad.
The 11" iPad Pro is significantly different from the iPad Air. The former getting the M2 (and mini LED) is all it really "needs".So, the 11-inch iPad Pro is now the new 13-inch MacBook Pro? Literally at odds with its "Air" counterpart while two higher end larger sized iPads get all the serious updates and attention. This is utterly silly marketing on Apple's part. Where's Phil Schiller when you need him?
Canvas-size choice is an obvious benefit for those that want it. I wish Apple went even bigger, depending on the aspect ratio. The jump in size between the 11 and 12.9 iPads is already pretty dramatic. A 14.1 iPad would feel (wonderfully) HUGE.That said, with Wacom being the only other brand marketing touchscreen external pen-compatible displays (whether wired or wireless) for graphic artists, a 14.1" iPad Pro is probably something that needs to happen.
I sincerely hope they keep the 11” and add mini-LED or OLED to it to keep it competitive. It’s the perfect size for portability, not to mention I’ve invested in a Magic Keyboard, which I hope will last years.iPad Pro mini (11”), iPad Pro (12.9”), iPad Pro Max (14.1”)?
Or maybe they’ll even get rid of the 11” iPad Pro since the Air is catching up.
I don't feel like the 12.9" iPad is limited by processing power or screen size, it's limited by the OS. How great would it be t run Xcode on an iPad and test apps on the device you're building them on? Or working on a Final Cut project while on the road? The iPad Pro has loads of power but still feels like a giant iPhone sometimes.
Apple is reportedly developing an iPad Pro with a 14.1-inch mini-LED display, according to Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young.

On Twitter, Young claimed that this larger iPad Pro model will feature a mini-LED display and ProMotion like the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro:
The rumor was first shared yesterday by the hit-and-miss Twitter leaker known as "Majin Bu," who said that Apple is developing a 14.1-inch iPad Pro model with the M2 chip, configured with 512GB of storage and 16GB of memory as standard:
Majin Bu also mentioned other upcoming iPad Pro models, saying that "no major changes" are expected for the 11-inch model, while the 12.9-inch model may feature slimmer bezels around the display. As mentioned by Majin Bu, new iPadOS 16 features such as Stage Manager and Display Zoom suggest that there is a clearer use case for an iPad Pro with an even larger display.
Young now seems to have supported Majin Bu's rumor about the existence of a 14.1-inch iPad Pro. Young has revealed a wide range of accurate insights into Apple's plans, such as the iPhone 13 Pro's ProMotion display, the display size and bezels of the sixth-generation iPad mini, the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro's mini-LED displays with ProMotion, the M2 MacBook Air's display size, and more, so his comments are worth taking seriously.
While Majin Bu suggested that new iPad Pro models could be unveiled at an Apple event in October or November this year, Young was unsure of launch timing, saying that early 2023 "may be more likely."
The first report about even larger iPad Pro models came from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman last year. In the first edition of his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman said Apple was exploring iPads with larger displays:
The latest rumor about a 14.1-inch iPad Pro from Majin Bu and Young, in addition to Gurman's previous comments, suggest that an even larger iPad Pro model is more likely to emerge than previously thought and could arrive sooner rather than later. More immediately, Apple is expected to launch new iPad Pro models with wireless charging.

It's an iPad that has an OS and a CPU that has nothing to do with the previous iPads. Expect everything more. It's an iPad. Expect nothing more.
Is that a requirement? I slap my iPads into a keyboard case the second I get them.Like you'll hold that in your hand for long.
I totally agree. The current Files app is garbage and basically turns a powerful iPad Pro into a mere entertainment and social media platform. We already know iPadOS 16 doesn't have a true file system like macOS, so I fail to see the point in more power without a truly usable file system. A supercar with an 1100 horse-power engine without a transmission isn't going to do much other than look and sound good, so why on earth would someone buy it. You would be better off with a bicycle if you need to go somewhere. An iPad Pro without a true file system isn't going to be of much use to those who want to use it as a work tool. You are better off with a laptop if you want to get work done it.Unless it comes with Finder or a Finder like easy to navigate filesystem, what exactly is the point?
From productivity point-of-view, 16:9 isn’t necessarily terrible given that there is enough vertical space. Especially with the way windowing in iPadOS seems to head (with current multitasking + new stage manager) wider screens would be very appreciated.Would love to see a 16:9 aspect ratio. While I don't like Android at all, Samsung's latest tablet with the 14"+ display looked fantastic. My iPad is mainly a media-consumption device though, appreciate others may prefer the standard iPad aspect ratio.
At this size you’d have to cradle it in your arm like a large clip board. That’s already how I hold my 12.9” and it works fine.Like you'll hold that in your hand for long.
But you see, those folks saying that the iPad doesn’t have a “file system”… they consider putting files on the desktop a file system! So, sorry Apple, not good enough! /sThe files app seems to be pretty capable now. From what I've used on the iPadOS 16 beta the last few days, it does everything except let you litter your desktop with files
Modern equivalent of the 17" Powerbook.Sorta makes sense given the ongoing evolution of iPad OS. Still, it's gonna be chonky as an iPad.
