I know I requested the day off, but I'm sure there will be an unusual amount of people calling in sick on the 21st or ditching class to wait at home for the delivery driver to show. Who all has requested off from work, plans on calling in sick, or is going to ditch class in order to wait for their new iPhone to show up?

No need. I'm getting the phone shipped right to work.

If this wasn't an option I would probably take a few hours off to make sure I was home when it arrived. My big worry is it needing a signature upon delivery.

Already decided to take the day off to use up my vacation hours before Apple announced the availability date. Right on.

I only have to work a four hour shift that day, 5-9 so I'll hopefully have me new iPhone with me to (I hope will be worth) show off.

Calling in sick for a phone? I think not.........save that for a holiday.

Having mine shipped to work as well, because there will be nobody home. I will probably open the box and look at it but put it back in and do all my activating and syncing when I get home.

Loosing a day of work (8 hours of pay) just for a device? Laughable concept...

Heard of PTO?

I'm having mine delivered to work as well. We're in a pretty small office so I'll no doubt see him/her walk in. Surely going to brighten my day. :)

Remember:
You can always pre-sign for the phone on the apple website, then print out and stick the slip on your door and they'll drop it off on your doorstep.

I guess some people might fear it getting stolen, but it's an option.

I didn't pre-order a phone, so I'll only miss work if it takes that long to get one at the store in the morning (assuming of course that I'll be fortunate to get one at all). I'll go in to work after. My job and flexible schedule allows me to do so.

Depends how your company is setup. We have PTO, but unused is bought back at the end of each quarter.

If it was use or lose would make sense.

Can't Call In Sick-w/FanBoy Flu

I'll have to burn a vacation day as everyone at work will know I'm faking it in order to take delivery of the iPhone5 at home. FanBoy flu just won't work for me!

I have no other option.. my apt number was "corrected" so now it'll be going back to the shipper unless I'm outside hunting down the truck which is what I'll be doing.. I know the normal times he comes.
