Really?! I didn't consider this. I'm planning on running Ableton Live 5 on it, which is already Intel Mac native, and then eventually Logic Pro ... anyone else have any thoughts on this? 7200 drives are usually essential in music production, but with the battery life as it stands perhaps I should save my money and take an external 7200 drive for when doing the more demanding stuff (i.e. using Ableton as a DJ interface to play out, or intensive work in Logic).
The question is, does the MacBook Pro have so much power that the 5200 drive is enough?

PS When I said battery life a it stands, I don't know what that is of course!!! But I'm guessing it's around 3.5 hours tops while running applications like Ableton.
