iPhone 15 Pro 15 Pro/PM users, upgrading?

Thinking aloud, as I am being tempted.

The 17Pro Max is 23.5% heavier, so probably noticeable, but the 17Pro is only 9% heavier - a small price perhaps for better battery and camera performance.

Might increase storage to 512.

Now need to satisfy myself that the redesign is not something which will irk me. So too with the blue. But then, I will probably buy a case of some kind

I’ll be keeping the 15 Pro until there is either a genuine leap of new abilities and/or it no longer supports iOS updates.

Regardless, I hate aluminium unless there is no choice. That puts a future Air on my list, of course…

I'm on the fence, but leaning towards keeping my 15PM. Actually the Air looks way more appealing to me, but I just do not know if I would be satisfied with the camera.

14 Pro, and I think im still gonna wait. if carrier has a good enough trade-in offer (unlikely with the price hikes t-mobile made the last two years), sure cuz the all 48MP camera would be much appreciated along with the battery and thermal improvements + storage upgrade. However, after taking a deep dive on the compare iPhone section between 17Pro, 16pro, and 14 Pro, there are still certain camera software limitations that I hope they'll open up next year. For example.... 17Pro is still using SmartHDR5 from the 15 series, 4K 120FPS is still limited to the main camera only, Slo-mo is still limited to 1080p for 240fps and 120fps at 4K, but again only on main lens. Hopefully they bring software parity to all cameras next year now that they're all 48MP. It's always a bit of a gripe of mine when you can only use certain features/modes on certain lenses. Like back with Night mode, 11 Pro was main lens only, 12 pro main lens+ultra wide, 13 Pro finally let you use it on any camera.
Again, we'll see what deals happen, or if I have some extra spending money before Halloween, but more likely waiting for next year.

Keep in mind the 17Pro Max is still lighter than 14Pro Max and 17Pro is same weight as 14Pro :]

It looks like the 17 models will work with the existing magsafe wallets and chargers. That's good news for upgraders.

I'm in the US on Tmobile and my phone is in good condition so I'm expecting a pretty good trade in offer. So yeah. I probably will.
It's my most used device by far and with the trade in deal it's worth it.

Also, vapor chamber in an iPhone, before an iPad Pro or MacBook Air, that's just nuts lol

I don’t think so, nothing that’s compelling enough. I would consider the base 17 now that it finally has ProMotion. It would suck to lose the telephoto but it would only be $400 CAD and I’d like to downsize.

Already done my get ready to pre order for a 17PM Orange upgrading from my 15PM White, it was due an upgrade and honestly the 84% battery health has been driving me crazy these past few months I used to end the day with at least 50-60% left but most days its now 20-30% with less screen time usage.

I'm torn. Honestly still love my 15 Pro Max, but also kind of itching for something a bit smaller. Actually thinking about selling it and getting the Air or 17 Pro.

I have a launch day 15PM and its still plenty fast with 91% battery health.

I’m not keen on the fact that the 17PM is fatter and heavier than both the 15 and 16.
And for what benefits : faster cpu( don’t need right now , better battery ( always good) , better cameras ( feature I’d like but actual improvement TBC)

The Air will clearly be the form factor of the future but as expected the lack of certain features on the 1st gen Air ( cameras /lidar,speaker) and worse battery, means it’s not going to fit the bill just yet.

Shockingly my Battery Health is at 82% on my 15PM but I had already planned to trade it in. I too do not like the idea of the 17PM being heavier but the Air is also not a good fit for what I want. Last year was the first year in 5 years I did not get a new iPhone, I just did not feel there was enough change.

Question... does anyone have any idea if I order store pick up on Friday, how far in advance can I set up the pickup date. I am heading out of the country and will not be returning till the 29th. When I planned this trip last year was not even thinking of my Apple phone delivery lol

Planning to get an Air from my 15pm, but the regular pro is also tempting. I am just tired of the size and weight, and like that the Air is going to have a larger screen than the pro.

I‘m going to upgrade. It’s not a huge upgrade and I like the blue 15 Pro, I’m looking forward to a better battery life, the new chassis and the upgraded camera. Nice stuff with the zoom and having all lenses with 48 mp.

Of course, I have a 15 pro and I've never had an iPhone with such heat.

It can get warm with some tasks and apple image creation but it’s far away from being hot. This story has carried over from the problems during its launch.

Launch day 15 Pro Max here with 86% battery health. Definitely upgrading to the 17 Pro Max in blue on Friday. Giving/ selling my mom the 15 Pro Max.

I've just seen that I could sell my 15 Pro (256) for UK £510.

The 17 Pro is 1,099, 256 is now standard, and the base 17 is £799

=> upgrade cost for the 17 Pro is £589
& £289 for the base 17

Both with new batteries.
