I'm guessing they will come out sometime this week as I just ordered a refurbished 2019 15 MBP fully loaded.

Haha, I feel you. I've contemplated doing the same thing but the moment my two week return period is up I know the new one will be released. The refurb prices are looking pretty good right now though...

My biggest worry is it will be using nearly 1 year old components. We are not likely going to see updated Intel chips. We could see navi, which was needed. It is just really weird timing for Apple. We are just a few months away from a refreshed lineup. Even if we don't see a design change it will at least be using updated internals. If it is actually in production they can't sit on it long because they are already using old components that will be updated shortly. I just doubt seeing a Macbook Pro launch late November/December when all of the component manufacturers are later in their product cycle.

Thank You, Exactly! That is why it's my OPINION that a release is imminent. Possibly tomorrow!

You're forgetting that they did a formal announcement of the product though at an event. Its not like Apple just threw it up on their website with no one ever having seen or heard of it before, which is the case here. Apple has never discussed this new MacBook Pro. To me, a thinner bezel with an updated keyboard is going to warrant an event.

I still say this is 2020 at an event. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.

This is not a major revision. Same chassis design. Just a bigger screen and new processor. If we are lucky, 64GB ram capability.

Oh my! I don’t understand the need to replace your macs so soon!, I have an MacBook Pro 2012 with upgraded ram to 16 gb, runs photoshop, after effects and iMovie just fine!

am I missing something m?

You are probably missing this kind of situation.....

Lol and you know this how? The only thing that’s known is that it’s a 16” screen, and that’s still an unknown. There is also a supposed new keyboard design and I’m sure there will be more around the display as well as any internal updates.

With all the Macbook Pro 15's that have $300 off right now they are just cleaning out what is left of the old inventory before a launch soon.

Just remember that sale has been going on for 1yr+. They are waiting for our hopes and dreams to die, because then we will just buy the 2019.

I’ll wait until the sophomore year of a new model they always seem to add stuff and people complain why they didn’t put it in the previous year

All the leaked photos thus far are what I am basing that assumption upon.

There have been too many reports that the 16" MBP has been in factory production for weeks/months. If there was going to be an event it would have happened already. So, right now, based on what the leaks have shown, the design of the MBP is exactly the same as the previous models. There is nothing revolutionary about this MBP from what we know. Just a larger screen option, hopefully, a new keyboard (which doesn't warrant an event) and more memory options.

The Apple way!
Premium pricing for older generation internals.

A profit producing formula that gets Tim excited
If they ship the latest 45w intel cpu, with navi dgpu latest ssd, that doesn’t mean older generation internals
Maybe even the cooling/fans will be new and not like the current 15”mbp

Nothing is known about what it is or what it isn’t. Like you said, you are assuming. I highly doubt that Apples first refresh of a design from 4 years ago is going to go unannounced at an event.

You have a bad case of “I want it to true be really badly so I’m justifying the reasons it could be true” fever.

If the MBP has been in production for months now and too many sources are saying it has, when would there be an event?

I can't see Apple waiting for March of next year to announce an MBP with outdated components.

Listen, I hear you. You could be right. I could be right.

I would wait till tomorrow before we start talking about 2020. Very good chance the MBP could be announced alongside the Mac Pro.

And, yes, I do want it to be true more than anything which is driving my opinion.

“Starting at $3,999!”

“But the 15-inch MBP starts at $2,399?”

“That extra inch doe...”
$2,999 is widely quoted as a likely starting price. If it mirrors $2,799 15" MBP as the entry level (8-core instead of 6-core, 512GB SSD instead of 256GB), $200 price increase wouldn't be too outrageous for larger screen and batteries.

My early 2013 MBP needs replacing. Would love to replace it with a new iMac, but its design is from 2012. No thanks, Apple!

The iMac Pro is newer and pretty nice from what I hear, although possibly overkill for your needs? I agree the iMac is due for a refresh. Perhaps in 2020...

I would gladly trade the 8-core processor for a 6-core plus Navi in the base config, but I'm probably being overly optimistic...
