Ironically, if Apple had released a 16GB on Wednesday, at $599, at the same time as eliminating the 4GB and reducing the 8GB to $399, there would have been a lot fewer whiners because it would have been more clearly part of the natural march of technology and ever-reducing prices.

3rd Generation? Where's 2nd??

Ya, i'm calling bananas on this for now.., If they had em ready, Jobs woulda mentinoed it..

While T-Mobile may be the exclusive carrier in Germany, I don't think that this is real. A very good photoshop if it is indeed a fake.

Fake, Fake, Fake, Fake, Fake! Fake.

First they call it the iPhone XL for 499 euros (that's like 680 dollars) then they say Apple iPod 16 GB. I really don't buy it.

I buy it. Apple just slashed the price of the 8GB iPhone. Giving way for a 16GB one around $599. Compare to iPod Touch prices for the 8GB vs 16GB.

1st generation Analog: voice only
2nd generation Digital: voice and text (SMS) messaging
‘‘2.5G’’ Digital with packet data (GPRS): multimedia (MMS) messaging, mobile Internet
3rd generation Higher-bandwidth digital: live video calls, video streaming

Are you a native speaker? Let me take a guess... No, you are not.

If I were to use the words "Welt" and "Uhr" and conceive the word "Uhrwelt", it would not make any sense at all.

Hi Herman, do you live in the UK by any chance? Just wondering because I had a friend there who I referred to by your nickname...

I havent got time to read cause I have to go to work, so Im posting it anyway

I think ive found a flaw in it. I like to believe it, but...

anyway, it says on the poster, 16GB iPod... should say iPhone

ciao for now

Fake or not who cares. I just want Jobs to tell us when the heck we are getting the iPhone in the UK, Germany and France. Then at least we could choose between waiting a bit or grabbing the iPod touch.

its exactly that which makes me think theres a possibility its real. Surely a faker wouldnt make such a simple mistake - yet a marketing dept who's not totally familiar with the product might??

No front camera?

Must be a fake. :D

Not definitely so

Theres a number of 3G handsets without front cameras in the UK. eg. HTC Meteor, Nokia 6234, Nokia 6300

To be honest - I think the networks have finally started to realise the way they will return the investments in the 3G licences is not through Video calling - but through data

No, I do not live in the UK. Other than that, my name is not Herman. But we could be friends anyway. :D

The proper translation for "world clock" in German, assuming limited space on a display, would be "Weltzeit".

It is a fake, fanboy art, nothing but that.

trying to prove a point i just looked it up and while "Weltuhr" is possible, "Weltzeituhr" would be the proper way to translate it. Also took a look into my iPod: it simply says "Uhr".

i'm also more and more sure that it's a fake...take a look at the upper right corner of that pink box...it looks deformed somehow...

"Weltuhr" is not possible at all, I actually took the time to look it up in several online as well as offline sources. Why would somebody use a word that does not even exist? It is either "Weltzeituhr" or "Weltzeit". Sorry for being anal.

I mean, if you look closely enough at the "XL" in the upper pink box, you can clearly see that the whole thing is a photoshop.

A bit far out, but Herman - do you play CS?

the price is actually very likely,
Apple prices are ALWAYS transfered 1:1 from Dollar to Euro.

Wow, that sucks, looking at the Ireland Apple store it appears that it's usually true. Who knew! You folks in Euro-Land need a good US hook-up.
