So, in the UK, these prices would, rounded to the most likely price points, equate to:

£34.99 - 200 min

£39.99 - 300 min

£49.99 - 400 min

... not great for an unsubsidized handset and with HDSPA prices being pushed down by 3's Sep 3rd reductions i.e. £10/£15 for 1G/3G and T-Mob and Vodafone offering "unlimited" for around £25.

As noted before, the lowest price point for sim-only service is £10 for 300min, so, the estimated prices above seem a tad steep, I reckon £30/35/45 would be more likely to fly.

BTW, with regard to not believing it will be 3G, it has to be 3G, they don't have any other choice in the European market and, indeed, that's probably one of the reasons why they've delayed the international launch, waiting for FCC permission for a 3G service in America.

If you look at the iPhone pic closer, you'll noticed there are two icons after the T-Mobile carrier logo. They look like the Edge icon 'E' and WiFi signal. People who have iPhone will know iPhone can display either the 'E' or Wifi, but not both at the same time.

but still, this might just be graphical error (my company's in-house designers do these kind of small error all the time) and the other info can still be true.

it says "T-Mobile D" in my opinion. does that on every mobile phone with T-Mobile since a few years ("D" for Deutschland :p)

"Weltuhr" isn't that strange to me but you're right in saying that "Photos" isn't used anymore...it would be "Fotos".

yes, actually you're right! i just wanted to say something to this topic.

btt: if you take a closer look, you'll see, that in the upper left of the display you can see "t-mobile D", also settings is called "einstellungen" and everything else is translated too. i don't think that someone is so careful when faking, and a apple fan (which would probably faked it, if it's a fake) wouldn't make a fault, writing ipod instead of iphone!

Actually, writing iPod instead of iPhone is exactly the kind of slipups we often see with Apple fakes. For instance, check out the iHome fakes. They looked good... but if you look closely you'll notice that the front box art is upside down. That is, if you held it by the handle on the top the front box art would be upside down. They also spelled it Centre not, Center. While that is appropriate spelling in some parts of the world, Apple is a US company and would certainly have named it Center. Again, small errors by a huge Apple Fanboy.

am i right in reading they get 400minutes a month for 69 euros? that cant be right, accoring to my cousin in germany they pay about half what we do for minutes...my german is a bit rusty though
It also says that there is unlimited data - maybe this is why there is such a high price?

German words don't need to exist in dictionaries to be real. The Word "Welt" and "Uhr" are real, so it's just a compound word.

It's still fake though. It's not taken by a camera phone in an elevator.

Are you a native speaker? Let me take a guess... No, you are not.

If I were to use the words "Welt" and "Uhr" and conceive the word "Uhrwelt", it would not make any sense at all.

trying to prove a point i just looked it up and while "Weltuhr" is possible, "Weltzeituhr" would be the proper way to translate it. Also took a look into my iPod: it simply says "Uhr".

i'm also more and more sure that it's a fake...take a look at the upper right corner of that pink box...it looks deformed somehow...

i dunno if I want this to be fake or not. It can be either. We will know if :apple: legal takes down the pic soon. Will you guys think its real if they do then?

Right, because low level reps from a competiting cellular company have "an in" on that kind of information. Besides, they havent even applied, and its fall. how could it be approved?

According to one of the contractors, the equipment is in place and the negotions for frequency have been in dispute for a year now. Auctioning airwaves is hard!

Frequency auctions have nothing to do with gaining FCC approval for a particular device.

Networks bid for airwaves, equipment manufacturers apply for permission for their equipment to operate on the frequencies provided by the networks.

Apple is indeed going european very soon.

They will be using EDGE. Fact. They said so.

That said, many people should install wifi access at their stores so everyone has wifi access everywhere. Where is the website to facilitate that on a totally free basis? A website is cheap to administer.

Looks like a fake because of the T-Mobile Logo normally the text "mobile" is also white on a pink background only on the t-mobile.de homepage they use the black mobile.

Nevertheless nice photoshop work...... "iPhone L/XL/XXL" *ROFL*?

It's fake, here in Europe we don't have these huge overprice payment/month !
Well show us the rate where they offer a data flat for less then 49€?
Beside that I'm sure there will be rates without a data flatrate.

Those prices seem acurate for price plans here in Ireland in fairness.

The price of the phone seems as one would expect too.

It may be a fake ad, but I wouldnt be surprised if the iPhone was released as 16gb, 3g enabled at €499

499 € includes 19 % sales tax (VAT). All EU prices have to be quoted with sales tax (VAT), while US price are commonly quoted without. The comparable price is 419.33 € net, which is $577.41 net. I don't think there will be a 3G iPhone this year. I don't want to hear the die-hards start whining again after the recent price drop because their 2.75G iPhone is outdated, and I hope neither does Mr Jobs. The leaflet could be real, especially because it has that sloppy editing from T-Mobile, "Weltuhr" is the best translation you can do if "Weltzeituhr" (the proper translation) doesn't fit on the screen because Apple designers are anglocentric and don't care much how their designs turns out in other languages, pricing plans are still rather new to Germany, much derided (we like to pay by the minute) and inreasingly harder to avoid (if you don't switch to an MVNO), but in the end it's impossible to tell just like arn said.

Hopefully, Apple won't be compelled to give the whinners a rebate because they'd think they should have gotten 3G at the June launch...

Yeah, it certainly would help explain part of the price drop.

I bet the 16GB will retail for $599, if released before Thanksgiving.
