17" Unibody MacBook Pro Orders Begin Arriving

Why all the renewed drama about how bad it supposedly looks? If you don't like it, fine, but it looks exactly like a slightly bigger version of the 15" unibody but with a narrower bezel, and that machine has been out for months. It's not like this is some whole new look worthy of fresh criticism.
Surely your session will timeout within 8 hours and you'll need to start over... 😉
We have an 2008 17" MBP and the newer 15". Ive grown past the look.
I cant wait for my personal 17" to show up and yes its the glossy 😉

Ever heard of photography and what you can do with it. Lighting, positioning angles etc.etc.?
It is soooo obvious that this picture was not shot for presentation. Probably even on a cell phone. I bet I could make it look like a mouse trap, if I got a free one🙂
Just go to the apple website and see what it really looks like, professionally shot.
Better yet, go to a store look at it and touch.
This one and the 15" unibodies are all gorgeous.
And be happy that you are in a free country.
Guess what, you don't really have to buy one , if you do not want to, imagine that🙂

I wonder how many people are pissed that it's "late" and in the same breath insist that Apple Continue with Macworld. I'm sure this would not have been released until it was ready if Macworld wasn't happening and they needed a product to release. I'll miss Macworld but I won't miss people complaining things are late since Apple will now be able to release on their schedule and not based on the next big show.
I completely agree that the Unibodies look a lot nicer in the (synthetic) flesh but my early '08 even looks great in the morning before she puts on her make up.

Agreed, with a keypad and full sized keyboard the computer would have had much better proportions. Now it just looks funny I think.
Why do the keyboards that ship with the iMac have white keys and not black? Why is the mouse still white?😕
Wow, wide-angle photography sure does make some things ugly when they're really not. 🙄
Kidding aside, I think if you actually see the 17-inch in person, you'd think it's a step ahead of what the design was before. It's always been the case with every computer Apple's always made...The newer generation is better than the last...If you don't think so, usually it takes getting USED to, before you believe it's better than the last. 😉

I ordered mine when they announced it, but then I got an email saying there was a 2 day delay. Seems they were pretty backed up.
I think the new design (of the MacBooks) looks very nice and a definite leap ahead from the past design. Esp. when comparing side by side. It never ceases to amaze me how Apple can update a product and make what was previously gorgeous look so outdated in comparison.
