iOS 8.3 is what iOS 8 should have been in the 1st place

I'm currently running iOS 8.3 public beta on my 6 Plus and felt in love with it! The animations are smoother, safari tab reloading issue even though still occurs but is now less severe. If iOs 9 can improve this even more, I'll stick with iOS for a loonggg time.

How about you guys? Happy with iOS 8.3?

I still didn't try it and probably i won't . But from what i see people saying it improved a lot their devices and its pretty stable and fast , i hope apple can make it even better than 8.2 so for now lets just wait for the final release to come and after a week or 2 of using we will see if its really that good imo we cant say much about a beta version .

Here you have a very disappointed 6 plus, first day buyer. So far the 6 plus have been laggy in general animations (the infamous rotation, zooming in and out of apps and even scrolling between homescreens), spotlight, third-party keyboards, loading App store and most importantly: SAFARI!! To have the slightest chance on performance close to Safari on ios 7 on the 5S I need to close my three tabs and disable JavaScript. Icloud integration is not on and I regularly clean history. And the tabs constantly reload and I very often get a notification in safari that it could not render the page. Is any of the mentioned better on 8.3?
How about memory management? While having following apps in the background: safari with 3 tabs, music app and pulse, monitor activity shows that the available amount of ram only is about 5 percent!!! And that on ios 8.2!
It has slowly become better, but in all honesty this it's not what I expected from a top notch IPhone....
 
I have to agree. iOS 8.3 is shaping up to be the most amazing mobile operating system ever released by Apple. Performance is insane on even the oldest devices. People will love this update.

Yeah, I was like you very frustrated with my 6 plus, I am also a first day buyer. I was about to switch to the smaller 6 because I heard the 6 performance is better than 6 plus. But after upgraded to iOS 8.3, I decided to stick with the 6 plus. I haven't seen any could not render page notification so far on 8.3 and the memory management is now wayyy better. I'm having 4 safari tabs, music in the background, facebook and yik yak and not a single thing reloads

I'm crossing my fingers that your report will be reality for me as well, but still keeping a healthy amount of suspicion until I try it out for myself.

I still don't get all the complaints about 6+ performance.

Mine has been great with the only lag issue I see is rotating while in spotlight search. Of course, I never use spotlight search OR Safari so maybe that is why I don't see any issues.

And the battery in this device is pretty impressive. NEVER been able to go 2 days on one battery charge before the 6+.
 
I'm curious how it runs an iPad Air, iPad mini 2, or iPad mini 3.

General UI glitches and performance problems are really problematic. And yes, I've restored my iPad mini 2 as new. The problems are always there. It's a matter of whether you notice them or not. Or if your usage patterns contain the areas that are problematic if you get what I'm saying.
 
Happy with the performance and stability of 8.3 on my iPhone 5S. However my battery life has suffered. 8.2 and my battery would last until bedtime - one charge overnight. Now with 8.3 the same level of activity my phone dies around 6 PM. Tried turning off bluetooth - no improvement. Drove over to the local Apple Store and had my battery tested - everything OK.

Well it is still a beta version.

This is completely meaningless. Available RAM is wasted RAM on any modern system. iOS is always going to try to keep as much cached in RAM as possible. When apps or Web pages reload if you switch to them after having not used them for a bit, the reason is their contents have been purged from RAM to make room for new content. The OS always wants to have essentially all RAM in use. If it needs more RAM then it has available, it will purge the most stale content from RAM to make room. If you were looking at RAM usage and saw a consistently high amount "available", this would be far more concerning than seeing very little.
 
Still haven't been able to access the public beta, unfortunately. I would like to see how it runs on the iPhone 5 however
 
Sounds like we need to wait for the final version (and run it for a week or two) to really make any calls.

True, but more available RAM in the first place would mean that the app you used 7 hours ago was purged and not the browser tab you were on 2 minutes ago...

Sunking, didn't know you were testing. Thanks for feedback on Safari. I don't see the spinning wheel. But, copy/paste sucked on this forum. Problem is, I use Mercury Browser. So, don't know if it is still the bug, or user error--😉

I may try to use this forum thru Tapatalk. I have it there, but seldom use it since I left XDA.

Exactly. Anyone that says 1GB of RAM is enough, is lying to themselves and denying the fact that Safari tab reloading can be a real PIA. It is a pleasure using the iPad Air 2 with its 2GB of RAM. I never run into the reloading tab problem. Ever! The next iPhone should come with a minimum of 2GB of RAM, as well as every iPad from here on out.

I believe most, if not all, of the copy/paste bugs were fixed in the latest iOS 8.3 beta 3.

I have found 8.2 much more pleasurable to use over the crap that was 8.0-8.1.x. If 8.3 is even better, I will be even more happy.

8.2 and Android 5.1 are pretty much where the OS's should have started in the latest round of phones. I think both Apple and Google took this long to sort out all those stupid little bugs and now both OS's are a pleasure to use.
