Ok it restored fine for me, I did nothing special.

Oh and I never got a prompt to pay for the update, remember I had the leaked firmware on there before hand.

It might sound weird but I was ready to pay for the update, seeing as it is well worth the $10 bucks!

Now time to play Crash Nitro Racing!

Well means the server is probably back up, but it's getting hammered... and probably the firewall thinks it's a DDoS attack so it's blocking everyone.

But the blank page is better than an error message... it shows that iTunes is at least trying to connect to the server.

no, when the blank page was there, it meant there was proof that nothing is at that page

No I used iTunes. I moved the firmware out of the folder to make it see if it would download it again, and yet it did download it again!, well it asked for it and I denied.
