I just installed from the link that was provided earlier on apple's site. I spent the past hour finding wifi (apparently our house wifi is messed up) and trying it out.

It took me 5 min to install the software once I had it downloaded. All I had to do was load it and click update, and then click restore from backup and it went through everything error free.

As far as I'm concerned, apple botched this one big time. I downloaded it from that link because I want the software now, I could care less about the price. But its apple's loss.

Update: I think they have taken the servers back offline, hopefully in a final attempt to fix this before July 12 arrives EST.
