When I bought the app, Apple didn't do sleep tracking but they have since added it. You have to go into the Health app to see the result. I just prefer the level of detail from Autosleep ro Sleep++. I believe for all of them you set a window during which you expect to sleep and the watch and apps focus on that time for tracking, but if you go to sleep earlier or later they still pick that up. Not sure if they would pickup a nap in the afternoon but I can never ever sleep at random like that.
The Apple Watch doesn’t do that. You need that app to track your sleep automatically.

I am slowly weaning off Apple in response to the Apple bluetooth mesh spy network and client-side file content spying. I did enjoy my 20 years with Apple products though.
Not sure what you mean exactly, but curious where you are going to that’s safer?

I really hope they revamp iPadOS multitasking. Make it closer to MacOS, make it real windows designed for iPadOS. To this day I don’t know how do I close that slider over floating window gimmick, or add more slide over screens and cycle between them. Sure, I looked the guide up several times, but I always forget it. That’s a bad Apple.

You don’t get it. It doesn’t do a good job, you could hardly tell if it does any job at all. It’s obvious you haven’t use any product other than the Apple Watch. This thing doesn’t have basic functionality from 3 to 5 years ago, what part don’t you get that doesn’t even track your sleep without you setting it up manually? It’s a joke of a product, seriously. I’m back to using my Fitbit that lasts I don’t know how many days with a charge, can monitor heart rate, can detect when I’m going to sleep and has text notifications.

I do get it. But thank you.

And enjoy your Fitbit.

Or call it ios 20. Doesn’t matter. In 5 years ios will look exactly the same as today and apple will be working on making slight improvements to the camera.
I am less worried about how "it looks" and more of the functionality. IOS16 seems underwhelming at best (and yes I get there will be more announced at WWDC). Apple puts M1 chips in their ipads then leaves them out to dry with the software.

I totally agree. I feel like apple recognizes this and may release some super pro $2K+ phone that runs some slightly more advanced version of iOS but still no where near as powerful and intuitive as android.

i just want photos to load after I take them, it takes a good 10 seconds or so for a photo to show up in my library after I take it now since ios 15. new iPhone 13 mini, same on wifes 13 pro.
But the chip is 0.00132nm, also neural engine is 75% faster than latest farmville while browsing facebook wearing just 1 socket.

Im fine with the OS on the phones, Ipads are the ones that need a "pro" OS. Then again apple has diluted the pro moniker so much it doesn't mean anything other than more expensive anymore.

I guess I just don't care enough to look into it any more.
And you make a very good point which is the same one I made. The hardware is there! The app you use can do that because the Apple Watch is already recording all kinds of data about your sleep. The problem is not the hardware, it’s the software. Right now Watch OS doesn’t automatically track your sleep even when the hardware does, that’s why you need to get a third party app.

iPhones now are nearly 7” with tons of pixels. I think they could easily accommodate an OS built for multitasking. Androids do it very well.

Lol "multitasking" on any screen that small is tedious at best. Ipad makes more sense for true multitasking.

As someone who's back into Apple again (my last iDevice was an iPad Air, still running ios8 b/c I never updated it!), I can get back in on these announcements! My request would be if you set the time to 12h format, show am/pm on the lock screen. My current workaround is to use 24h format.

Not supporting Apple Watch 3 with WatchOS 9 would be bad... you can buy it on Apple's web pages right now, and dropping support for new versions of the software while the watch is still being sold - or immediately after - is not OK.

This may be highlighting that Apple should have retired Apple Watch 3 a couple of years ago in favor of Apple Watch SE, but they didn't - so they should still support it for a couple of years.
