Tbh it’s sad to see the removal of iPhone plus model

I had initially planned to upgrade from iPhone 11 to 17 plus

But when I heard the leaks that the iPhone 17 plus wouldn’t be released and the 16 plus would be the last plus variant phone (only iPhone where u could get more than 4000mah battery instead of buying the 17 pro max )

I still don’t understand the Dynamic Island rumour. Why would it be smaller just for the 17 Pro Max?

No one is waiting because they want aluminum or a bigger camera module.
I waited specifically for the upgraded camera module, regardless of its size.

I’m skeptical about the moving zoom lens though. I am still guessing it could be a 7X or 8X 12 MP crop, from a 3.5X or 4X 48 MP sensor.

My 13 Pro Max is losing battery faster and faster as the weeks progress, so I plan to buy the 17. I’ll probably go with the Pro Max again, but I’m open to something different. I’ll wait and see what they announce then decide.

Number 6, y’all. An Apple designed WiFi chip! Do you know for how many upgrade cycles I’d watch the announcement of each new iPhone waiting to hear about and Apple made WiFi chip, only to have my hopes dashed that isn’t available yet?! NOT ANYMORE! The suffering ends 🔜

This is the most important feature ever to be added to an iPhone!!!!!! SO EXCITED!
Seriously, you do now that Apple is really bad at RF design.

Using good proven 3rd party hardware Apple still has significant WiFi problems in any challenging WiFi environment.

Given Apple's lack of good quality control lately, I'd wait for at least 2 years from the initial release to get the bugs worked out.

I am really hoping the 17 Pro is a lot lighter than the 16 Pro. Going aluminum should help as long as they don't make the battery bigger.

24MP Selfie Camera

I think THIS will be the primary reason people upgrade to the iPhone 17. Finally more clear / decent selfie photos & videos.

Even if not “selfies” technically… i.e., sometimes you set the phone down on the counter top to make a video using selfie camera BECAUSE it’s really nice to see the preview of yourself while recording. All those videos will now be better quality.

(And secondarily, yeah having 48 megapixel sensors on all three rear lenses will be nice too.)

Regarding #5, it is far more likely that 17 and 17 Air have the "older" ProMotion display that has a range of 10Hz to 120Hz. This allows the variable refresh and high rate, and disallows Always-On Display, keeping AOD a Pro feature.

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I count on one hand the number of times I've used the front camera on my 16 Pro, and I've never taken a video with my front camera since they became a thing. I'm not sure the selfie cam will be a reason to upgrade.

Regardless, the vast majority of people upgrade because their battery is weak or it's time on the cell plan. Upgrading for features is becoming much less common.

Bring back the mini.
Yeah that's the ticket. Bring back the phone that made up 2-3% of sales. That was a real winner. Even the Plus managed to scoop 7 - 10%. And the Air is likely to do even better given the immense popularity surrounding it for the last year.

Reverting back to aluminum is such a trashy move. So last year they wanted to “distinguish” the pro to justify the higher price point. And this year they want to “unify” them? And then next year they’ll want to “distinguish” them again presumably?

So tired of Apple just phoning it in, no pun intended.
