I don't agree with that.. there's plenty of desperate teams that would be willing to attempt to spend the cash and pamper his man-child behavior for a shot at the glory. The NFL and Owners are too willing to cater to those with bad behaviors. They bring in business. And any team/fan with a decent QB that has no one to throw too would be lying if they said they didn't want him.

I wouldn't be surprised if these two find themselves removed from the cheerleader squad (the TopCats) upon their return to Charlotte.

As an Eagles fan, I disagree. Ok, he is an idiot, moron, jackass, etc, etc. But he is the best WR currently in the league. Moss may be the best deep threat ever. Steve Smith is having a great year. Holt has the best hands. Ward does more what more WRs do. But T.O. is flat out amazing. Very good hands, break away speed, ability to throw away a defender, catches balls in traffic, just the best. I'll deal with this crap if it means winning. We would have had a better chance to win last night if we had T.O. Late in the game, he would have found room in the endzone. Every team should want T.O. I hope he is dressed next week.

I doubt it... the brunette (Angela) is an RN, and the blonde (Renee, the student) is now being charged with a felony, providing a false name to police and causing harm to another (Kristen, who was originally identified as the second TopCat). Kristen was interviewed today on the local news and she was in a wedding in Columbia on Saturday night (with many witnesses). Renee had her (Kristen's) driver's license and used it to identify herself to the Tampa police.

And now the Panthers web site ( www.panthers.com ) is down... the story's on Drudge now, so I assume the site's getting slammed.

Back to football (much as I'd like to envision two hot cheerleaders having sex, it appears that story isn't quite true)...

The Bears are now 5-3 and likely to make the playoffs for the first time in awhile. If they can win 4 of their next 8, which seems pretty likely, they'll be in. They've got the Packers twice, which they should win at least one, the 49ers, and the Vikings. Throw in a win against those awful Panthers (;)) and they're good to go.

Sure, they haven't beaten anyone all that good yet, but hey - I don't really care. It's nice to see them with a winning record.

What part do you think isn't quite true.

The arrest?
True
as reported on ABC news.

Or the fact that two hot cheerleaders could possible have sex in a bathroom?

My guess is that they were either
A: Making out
B: Doing drugs

Anyway, back to football.

go COLTS!!!!!! you deserve a win against the pats.

The part about the two cheerleaders. One was a cheerleader, the other one apparently was not.

Panther cheerleader Angela Keathley, 26, and another woman whose identity remains a mystery to police face charges for a bar brawl at Banana Joe's in Tampa, Fla., early Sunday.

also,

Police said "Owen" punched Keathley in the face and was charged with battery. Keathly was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The second quote would seem to indicate they either weren't having sex together, or it wasn't very good if it deserved a punch in the face. ;)

I read it as they were both cheerleaders but the mystery woman had stolen the other cheerleaders ID. The story stated they were going to use fingerprints and help from the NFL to find her.

Hehehehe. It was probably frustration. I can imagine male female sex in a bathroom stall being possible, awkward and uncomfortable, but possible. Female female sex I am guessing would be a little more difficult. (I guess it relys on your definition of sex:eek: )

I just read that TO is done for the season. Which I'm glad to hear. He's a worse distraction than Moss was for the Vikings and TO is a much less needed player in Philly than Moss was in Minnesota. Philly was a dominant team before TO. They are still a dangerous team w/o TO (now if they could only run the football). And I don't think TO ever elevated the offense enough to warrant his big money and horrible attitude. IMO his man-child behavior hurt the team more than his receiving helped.

He was a cancer at SF. He is a cancer in Philly. And he'll be a cancer wherever he plays next. It's a lot like Jeff George. Lots of talent, but the poor attitude shreds the fabric of every team he plays for.

The Eagles were barely 4-3 w/TO (I say barely 'cause of the fluke win against SD) so it's not like they were ridding high or anything. Right now it's gut check time for Philly and they've got to pull together as a team if they want to get their season back on track. They can't do that w/TO doing all of his anti-team BS.

How any Eagles fan can defend TO after the numerous ways he's trashed the team and the organize is beyond me.

I just hope the Eagles hold on to TO (i.e., don't make him available to any other team) until the end of the season... I'd hate for some other team (e.g., Atlanta, Denver) to pick him up and for the Panthers to have to play against him.

well we had awesome seats at the game... lowest level, around the 40 yard line, behind the skins bench... besides the drunken idiots that give humanity a bad name that were in front of us, the game was great! not the flashiest of games or the biggest of wins, but it was a good win anyways. it was awesome to see lavar in action, getting a few big tackles for losses, and seeing him and marcus washington dancing to the stadium music before a play to get all pumped up.

as another note on lavar... i saw him, during a timeout, give his water bottle to a ref to share it... just a subtle little thing that seemed cool about him

the next few games will be interesting for the skins... hopefully they can keep tampa bay down when they've slipped.

Yeah, it was a good game. We got some lucky breaks and played a pretty solid game. Of course we gave up a big play (again), had issues holding onto the football, and the O really needs to finish off drives. We can move the ball, we just have problems getting it into the end zone. Between Portis, Betts, Moss, Sellers, and Cooley we should be racking up more points per game, IMO. I mean, it's not like Burnell is lacking targets to throw to. :)

Even though Portis didn't get many rushing yards he had a great game. The blocking, the diving catch on the sideline, and (my favorite) him running down the Eagle D-lineman who scooped up that fumble.

Washington should be able to beat TB. The 'Bucs are 5-3 w/a very soft schedule.

Jeff George? Lots of talent? Wow.. not 2 phrases I would have ever thought to put together. :)

George had a very strong arm, a quick release and an accurate touch. He had good field vision and could've been the ultimate QB for any team w/a vertical offense. But he was hamstrung by his big ego and bad attitude. Being in Indy when the Colts drafted him I witnessed it first hand. The guy was gifted, but the minute things started going south he was the first one on the wha-bulance and that just tears teams apart. Give George a better attitude (not even a great attitude, just an average attitude) and he would've been a great QB.

Hmm.. I never saw that in him at all. Ego not withstanding, I never thought his numbers were all that impressive with the exception of one brief glimpse of glory in the late 90s with the Raiduhs. But I also despise Indy, so may not have been desperate for a hero there in the early 90s. :) Looking forward to tonight's game, despite NE not being the team of the last 3 out of 5 years. Too devastated by injuries.. but I still have hopes that Poor Ol' Payton will fall victim once again.

has indy played anyone with a winning record besides jacksonville? if not, how did they score such a cupcake schedule with their record last year?

i guess we'll be finding out a lot about indy; the schedule toughens up quite a bit, with the pats, bengals, steelers, jags and chargers in the next 6 weeks.

No, and I don't know.

And Seattle. Yeah, a few posts up I mentioned that the Colts have less of a cakewalk in front of them.

I only have one thing to say...

8 wins 0 losses

Hopefully not in your mouth.

Anyway, regarding the Colts - were the teams that are so pitiful this year (their opponents are a combined 23-34, not counting the 8 losses to the Colts) expected to be this bad, or is it just the Colts' luck? I mean the Pats are SB champs, and I don't think anyone expected them to be 4-4 right now.

emw said:

They're just not the same Pats as last year. Too many injuries. Too many lost players. The defense just isn't the same. I mean, an injured Ty Law was better then 40% of the starting DBs in the league. Not to mention the mega changes at coaching. They're just not the same team.

I think they hype surrounding last night's game was ridiculous. An 8-0 team coming to visit a 4-3 team. Despite never having won there, clearly the Colts (despite their easy schedule) are a better team this season. It was an ugly game (for a Pats fan).

Next year will be a different story for the Pats as personnel, cap, coaching, and injury issues are worked out. But this year is going to be a 9-7 season for the Pats, IMO. Prove me wrong boys!

yellow said:

Which was the point of my question. When the schedule was set, they didn't know the Pats would be struggling with injuries, making it seem like an "easier" game for the Colts. What about the other teams - similar issues, where people thought they'd make for a tougher schedule, or were the Colts let off easy?

emw said:
or were the Colts let off easy?

Hmm, good question.

[Yes I know, things change drasticly year to year for a team.]

Average win/loss record of this years opponant's according to last years REGULAR season standings:

8.3 wins & 7.7 losses

This is including 3 powerhouses last year.. the 14-2 Pats, the 15-1 Blitzburgh, and the 12-4 Bolts. If you remove those 3 from the mix.. the average changes to:

6.7 wins & 9.3 losses

Hmm... I'd say someone in the NFL front office likes them.

Except, Yellow, the entire schedule (except for two games which are based on last year's finish) is predetermined well in advance... the only real element of chance is which teams you get to play at home and which you play away.

Since the Colts won the AFC South last year, they get to play 2 #1 finishers from last season THIS season... so their schedule should actually be pretty tough. It's just that the rest of the AFC South sucks, and the other "tough" teams they've played this year haven't lived up to their billing.
