Interesting stat for the championship games.

Carolina and Pittsburgh shared the best road record throughout the season (6-2), along with winning 2 playoff games on the road.

Denver and Seattle were both undefeated at home this year.

Why does that have a Dallas Cowboys-esque star in it?

Also, I guess someone should mention that SI picked the Panthers to win it this year.

Also, Steelers > Broncos.

ok, it's late saturday night for many of us right now, so i put in my picks for tomorrow's games

denver over pittsburgh by 7
seattle over carolina by 14

I'm with you 100% on both predictions.

Ill even add one. Seattle will score within the first 5 minutes of 1st possession. Carolina will be able to see what its like when an A team plays their A game as opposed to what they unfortunately have been facing.

I'm hoping both games will be exciting and close (especially since the second one doesn't start til midnight or thereabouts so it will have to be good to keep me awake!)

However... and this might be more wishful thinking than judgement

Pittsburgh over Denver by 3 (Plummer throws a pick on the final drive when trying to score a TD)

Carolina by 10 over Seattle (The 'hawks get a nasty surprise at home)

The only team I don't want to see in the Superbowl is Denver... (watch now as they kill the Steelers!)

Can't believe so many people are writing off the Panthers. Goings isn't your typical 3rd string back - he got 800+ yards the other year when he got some playing time.
Nick Goings is a good, strong, punishing back. I watched him alot when he played at Pitt. If Seattle takes him for granted, they'll lose.

Going to the Seahawks game today! Go Seahawks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

lucky you... to bad dallas didnt make the playoffs:( . i cant stand bill parcells. i like drew bledsoe though. i like seattle more than any of the other ones left(denver, pitts, carolina) but i would like to see a game of pitts and seattle.. that would be a cool game!

Roethlisberger's having a great game so far, considering how well the Broncos are bottling up the running game.

I didn't think there would be such a big gap at half time; I was assuming more like 10-10 at this point. The Colts came back after the half last week; will the Broncos do the same? Particularly with the altitude possibly affecting the Steelers as the game goes on?

Yep - great, unexpected first half - I was predicting a much closer game. Looking forward to the second half to see how the Broncos answer...

Woo hoo! Good job Steelers...

They definitely played the better game today. Their pressure on Plummer, and their coverage downfield, seemed to make Plummer revert to his old form from Arizona where you never knew where it would be a great pass or a pick. And glad there were no real screw-ups from the referee to tarnish it.

One of the guys in the studio in the UK is a big Steelers fan who'll be in Detroit to commentate on the game for the UK channel; he's getting a little overexcited at the moment :D

Man, they tried to answer. I had such the feeling of Deja Vu. But alas the Steelers steamrolled. Lets hope the Panthers play as well as Pittsburgh.

I need to find tickets now! My Steelers are going! I was just a kid when I was crushed by their post-season loss to Denver in the 1989 playoffs. I literally cried myself to sleep after that loss. I was a teenager when they just missed going to the Superbowl in 1994 and when the lost it 1995. I'm so pumped!!! I'm just starting out on my own and need to find a cheap way to get tickets. Unfortunately brokers are selling them for $2400 now. At least I have two weeks to scheme up so tickets. Go Stillers!!!!

Get them early... the price will just keep going up this year since Pittsburgh and Detroit are relatively close.

Seahawks have killed the Panthers so far. Goings getting hurt didn't help but the Hawks have managed to keep Smith very quiet and read Delhomme's mind. It's 2am... and I think I might just head to bed.

Steelers v Seahawks Superbowl... should be fun!

All I have to say now is this (since it looks like the Panthers are done):

GO STEELERS

There is ZERO chance that I will root for the team that knocked us out of the playoffs. If the Panthers can't win the Super Bowl, I want the AFC team to win. Screw the Seahawks.

The Panthers just didn't show up today. I still love 'em to death, but they just didn't perform. It sucks. :(

Condolenses to clayj, but I'll join you in pulling for the Steelers. Their post season performances have been impressive.

man, tough loss for the broncos :(

the steelers looked really really good. they definitely played better than the broncos today, and i tip my hat off to the steelers. can't believe i'm saying this, but cowher outcoached shanahan today.

unlike clayj, i'll be rooting for the team that knocked us out. i thought that's what most people do, but i could be wrong. anyways, more than the winner, i'm hoping for an entertaining super bowl.

i think this is pretty much how i called it before. Carolina got lucky and the past teams they played for one reason or another weren't on their A game.

Today as always the Seahawks were on their A game and showed Carolina a ass whooping they should have gotten two games ago, its what happens when you arent ready for prime time baby! Better luck next season.

See ya all in Detroit.

Go Seahawks!

denver "under" pittsburgh by 17, who would have thought...congrats to the steelers

seattle over carolina by 20, and the seahawks are the team to beat come superbowl sunday

my prediction is still seahawks, i would now say by 3-7 points and a good, but not great day for shaun alexander who may or may not get mvp
