Awesome weekend of football. Well, with the exception of the Saints, who have crushed my dreams. Guess all the press went to their heads, and now they can't win a game.

The Saints and Chargers look terrible this year. I guess I can understand the Chargers fall from grace (they have Norv "59-83-1" Turner as their coach) but nothing has changed on the Saints team.

Yeah, really surprised about the Saints.I thought they'd show more, esp against Tampa Bay. Niners are off to a nice start. That's good for a young team. Would like to see a race in the NFC West this year...

On another note..Looks like OJ took a break from trying to find the real killer(s).....

Well, despite the Patriots coaching feeling the need to cheat to gain that competative edge, I think it should be remembered that they still have an absolutely top calibur team. IMO, they proved that by soundly drubbing the Chargers.

Go Pats.

Grats to AppleSpidey and her Niners. Seems they are on the rise.

I can't believe I picked the Gi-AINTS. Never again.

And they do have a top caliber team. What do the Chargers and Jets have in common this season aside from a seething hatred for Bill Belichick and the Patriots? A couple of 38-14 beatings handed to them courtesy of this team.

Mangini's quote is quite ironic since the whistles and sirens went off to scold NE in NY.

“I learned a lot from Bill Belichick. I learned you need to understand people. He is a master motivator. He was my mentor, my teacher and I consider him a close friend that I will have for the rest of my life.”

With friends like that who needs enemas? I noted last night Chris Collinsworth (who I like) jumped on the bandwagon expressing disappointment and concern that Belichick wasn't suspended from the league, even though he received the maximum penalty and fine.

Will the spin continue for the rest of the season? I hope not. But if there's a personal gripe and accompanying agenda between Mangini and Belichick, I'm sure NYC will do their best to see that the finger pointing continues. Their raised hand and eyebrows may refocus on Mangini's performance if the Jets fall to 0-4.

new coach, new offense :p

and yeah the giants are awful. fire tom coughlin already.

one of the local talk show hosts down here, an alleged giants fan and eli hater, says that the giants are a mess and they need to blow the team up and start over, first by firing the coach and eli, who he hates.

Hopefully this ass whooping of the team that last year had the best regular season record proves to the rest of the NFL that this videotape is just a load of crap and doesn't really matter.. the Pats won fair and square.

who says they didn't cheat last night?

i don't know. maybe we're cursed. i think mare brought over his curse of the billy goat and bartman to the saints. but i'm not happy about my saints losing again. it's going to be one long season...:(

You're kidding about Harrington right? If you're not, you have to be the biggest homer I know. :)

Not a homer. I've seen what Harrington is capable of both in college and the pros. He never had a chance with the Lions, and he played well at times with the Dolphins. That he got benched for one bad game in week 16 after four consecutive good games is beyond me (granted, the 0.0 passer rating for that game didn't help any. Also the salary cap).

With the Falcons, he's playing for a team whose offense was until very recently geared for Michael Vick at quarterback, and he is a very different kind of quarterback than Harrington. If the team, coaches, and organization are behind him, Harrington is in control of his own destiny. I'm not saying whether I think he'll sink or swim because it's too early to tell. What I'm saying is that I know that he CAN swim.

Oh please..Gimme a friggin break. You're either letting your pathological hatred of all teams from Boston alter your view of reality AND/OR you have no clue about the game of football..Un friggin real..KEEP ON HATIN

not saying they did cheat, but you never know...i would have said the same thing if any other team expect the saints and chargers did this.

Bring on the Bills....

It is quite ironic that all these Pats fans that call the Yankees bad for the game and hate the owner and all he stands for root for the same team in the Patriots.

umm... wtf do the yankees have to do with the Patriots?

The Yankees and Patriots are a lot a like.

Way to not answer my question at all. How are they alike? Besides the fact that they both have blue & white in their uniforms.

wait, are you saying the yankees cheat?

Both have as Red Sox fans put it, "bought championships".
Both are dynasties,
Nobody likes the owners.

Im not saying they cheat but plenty of Red Sox fans have said this.

I don't really see how they're trying to buy a championship more than any other team due to the fact that there's a salary cap in the NFL.

Randy Moss?

You mean the huge pay cut he took to come here to new england to play?

There's a salary cap in the NFL, so the Patriots can't go out and spend 50 mil more than another team like the Yankees did in the 90s when they won those championships.

1. Difference being the Patriots don't blow their wad and sign over priced aging former All Stars/Pro Bowlers. Their franchise is built around a sixth round draft pick. The Pats have NO player that is the single highest paid at his position.

2. Pats sucked for MANY years which people don't remember or don't care to acknowledge..I'd say the Pats need another Super Bowl or two to be mentioned as a dynasty..

3. Haven't heard of too many people not like liking Kraft. If they don't like the owner,it's because he has a winning franchise and has done it in the salary cap era.Year in and year out...

I think that the only way you can say that the two teams are similiar is that they are there every year..People like a new flavor ;)

damn titans reciever dropped a perfect pass from VY on 3rd and 4 (would have put them in field goal range) and then they couldn't convert the 4th down.. indy won 22-20.

yeah.. this killed me yesterday like the dropped end zone passes against Jacksonville last week. I think they should have run an option play on that 4th and 4 with VY, Lendale, and Chris (Brown) sweeping around the side, with those three running together the Titans should have picked up at least 4 yards. I do wish the Titans would make more use of VY's legs in situations like that. oh well, I look forward to the Saints next Monday night.

BTW Why on earth did the Chargers get rid of their coach at the end of last season? They really don't look anything like they did last year.

If Bob Craft did not have a salary cap he would spend a fortune on the team. As for Brady him starting was a fluke that Bledsoe got injured.

My major beef with Craft is how he used Hartford to squeeze a new stadium in Foxboro.

WOW!!!!..Jesus Mary and Josephine..I don't know where the **** to begin. Brady is a fluke??

He woulda started eventually. What had Bledsoe done till he came along? Cripes man,you just got a hair across your arse with any team from Boston in general. Just like some others on here..

How did Kraft "squeeze" a stadium out of Foxboro? He financed it HIMSELF on land he OWNED..The only state help he got was improvements to infrastructure (Route 1).

Doesn't help that McCariens dropped perhaps one of the easiest TD catches ever (the first time). Coles could've caught that one thrown to him if was just a touch higher.

I say start Clemens again next Sunday.

Yeah, both should have been TDs but not for the sale old Jets. Tough rooting for these guys year in and year out.

I'd start Clemens again too. Let's find out if he can lead an NFL offense.

Yea, it's tough.

No doubt in my mind he can lead an NFL offense. That 4th quarter was something special.
