Nantz was just about unbearable.I thought he wanted to get a hotel room with the Colts after the game..This gem was priceless:
Nantz:" Addai is the second coming of Barry Sanders "-- yeah, on the same day Adrian Peterson made them all look like little boys

Whaaaaaaaa? (Moe Sizlac voice)

The refs gave like five bad calls to the Colts and the Pats still won. How in the world did they play dirty? If you ask me, if it weren't for the refs, that game wouldn't have even been close.

exactly. without the refs crappy calls, this game would have been a blowout

There were some unbelievable calls in this game. I was a neutral until a few of the calls were so bad that I decided I'd rather the Pats won it. Kept the game close and interesting though - never seen so many people stay past midnight in the bar. :D

And, oh boy, how much worse can the Niners get? :( I could call a better offensive game - all it would take is tossing a coin on first down to decide whether to run or pass rather than just running on first. The whole NFC West sucks though - the last NFC West win was when Seattle beat St Louis. And the next one will be when there's another divisional game

yeah the calls were so terrible, clearly they wanted the colts to win. glad they didn't though

yeah, if you lose to the falcons this year, you know you're bad...

But who was paying off the refs? ;)

The 72 Dolphins to keep that perfect season the only one?
CBS to keep the game interesting and get ratings rather than a blow-out?
All the other owners to punish the Pats for 'cheating' with cameras?
The NFL so that someone else has a chance to host a post-season game?
Joe Montana so that Brady doesn't take the 'God' title?

it really doesn't matter. i just want to see a fair-called game. i guess those don't exist in any sport though

I'd like to know how much whining that bitch Polian was doing all week?? Just like that phantom face guarding call on Hobbs in the AFCCG..Nothing new there....Fortunately that last one on Moss didn't cost the Pats a TD..

I can feel the "chill" from here :D

yeah that last call against Moss was terrible!

So here's the deal. All of you saying the refs were trying to give the Colts the game are idiots. The Patriots set a franchise record for penalty yards. They made a ton of stupid penalties (illegal formation, unsportsmanlike conduct [andrews blocking OB]).

The only two blatantly bad calls there were was the PI on Hobbs when he was covering Wayne and the Offensive PI on Moss. On the Hobbs play, he played that right out of the book. He had perfect position and looked back to play the ball, then Wayne ran in to him and brought him to the ground. That should have been Offensive PI on Wayne. The DB has just as much right to the ball as the WR, and Hobbs was playing the ball perfectly. If Wayne doesn't bring him down, it's an INT.

For the Moss call, there might have been a tad bit of incidental contact but Moss never pushed off (which is what you usually see on O-PI). That should have been a no call.

Both teams did play pretty sloppy, but that's what happens when you have hands down the best two teams in the NFL going head to head. The defense is going to force the offense to make mistakes (2 turnovers by each team), and the offense is going to make the defense look bad (addai 73yd td, moss burning bethea). In the end it was a hell of a game. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

MVP: Wes Welker
He had 2 key punt returns which set up the Patriots 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter. He also had the touchdown reception to take the lead 24-20 and he had that catch on 3rd&6 with 2:15 remaining to get the Patriots the 1st down they needed to run out the clock.

Next time Tony ought to hold onto that hand, wrestle him to the round and go UFC on his ass. What a prick.

lol. everyone hates bill except boston. that's ok though, he thrives off the hate. keep hating, the pats will keep winning.

because i thought the pats played dirty and they don't have alot of class...

I'm so sick of this "class" ****. LT just had to open his mouth last year because he was a whiney bitch after losing that game. Now everybody thinks they are the class police and just because they don't personally like a team they are "classless".

Point out one play to me where the "pats played dirty".

It was a tale of two halves for sure..That draw/delayed action in the first half was not working at all..Maroney still does a lot of juking/dancing at the line.He needs to be more decisive..I would love to see the Pats go no huddle more often..And more Welker in the first half. Brady can't throw the jump ball to Stallworth..That will only work with Moss..
Defensively,I still prefer the 3-4 for this team. Nickel package most of the game???They need much better tackling..I didn't hear Adalius Thomas' name much at all the whole game..The PI on Samuel was weak at best as the ball wasn't catchable..

At least we don't have to suffer thru 2 weeks of running up the score talk..And the haters can keep on hating..It's really getting ****ing old at this point..

Getting away from the Pats/Colts....

I'm very happy right now because the lowly Browns beat a decent team, won three in a row for the first time since 2001, and are now sitting at 2nd place in the AFC North at 5-3. On top of that, the game was very exciting. Holmgren should never have gone for that 4th-and-1 in the overtime period... :)

We who live by Lake Erie have been so downtrodden for so long that it's difficult to remind ourselves that we're not that good yet. Sure, we're 5-3 and ranked 9th in the league (as I write this), but we've played some pretty crappy teams (Miami, 0-8; St. Louis, 0-8).

Talk that the Browns have "arrived" is premature. We're so used to 4-12 season records around here that a couple of weeks ago, when we went 3-3, folks around here were so ecstatic at the improvement that you kinda started to hear a little swagger in their voices. I had to remind more than one fan that, yes, it was a great improvement, but .500 ball is nothing you can swagger about yet.

Still, they've got a lot of stuff this year they've never had before: a very good QB, a marquee RB, a solid O-line, and an offensive coordinator who can actually draw up a winning game plan. Just wait'll we address the defense this off-season....

Too bad about the Pats, though. ;)

but again, the bad calls all went the colt's way. no, i'm not an idiot.

naah, there were a couple that went the Pats way

Maroney dancing worked out a litte bit at the beginning because the Colts D was playing really agressive.

As for the PI on Samuel, it was an ok call. Samuel had good position but he put his hand on Wayne's (I think) shoulder and held him. Kind of like what Ty Law used to do back in the day, but Law put his hand on the guys hip. If Samuel put his hand on the hip he probably doesn't get called, but he put it on the shoulder so it was pretty obvious.

At least we don't have to suffer thru 2 weeks of running up the score talk..And the haters can keep on hating..It's really getting ****ing old at this point..

yup.

Good to see that Romeo's team is finally doing well. I've always liked him and I'm glad him (and McGinist) have a decent season going so far.

How about Adrian Peterson setting the new NFL single game rushing record? Rookie of the Year for sure. He's on pace to rush for over 2,000 yards I believe.

Whenever blown calls end with points being put on the board,it's not a good thing. Fortunately, the Colts couldn't it punch it in twice, and had to settle for FG's or those two blown PI's in the first half would have been real costly. No way in hell anybody is going to tell me those PI calls weren't blatanly blown. The worst part of it,was having to listen to Nantz and Simms trying to justify them (with the exception of the Moss call in the endzone)..And if the ball isn't catchable, then don't call it,whether you mug the guy or not...

Hey, I've been watching games all day and don't have cable. I missed the Chargers' post game show. Did LT nearly cry again? Poor kid.

I did see Turner say something along the lines of, "I've been in this league long enough not to use the word, 'embarrassed'..."

No ****.

He should be USED to that word by now. What a fool.

NBC Sells its Soul... AGAIN!

Jesus Christ.

All of last week NBC cross-sold the Bee Movie on every show they could... from news shows, to daily shows, etceteras.

Now they have "turned off the lights" to pander to the neo-conservationists.

What a crock.

NBC is owned by General Electric who helps make power plants and nuclear weapons.

So now they have some shill standing next to an igloo. How much energy does it take to produce a show from the middle of nowhere and how much energy did it take to get planes and production crews there?!

I must have swallowed the same pill as Neo. Am I the only one who sees this crap?

You sound like the people who bitched about Live Earth saying it was bad to have artists flying around the world to play at those different places.

You have to get the message out. People are going to pay more attention when you actually do **** instead of just saying something.

Back to football now:

What did Bill ever do to you? Or really anyone for that matter. I guess I don't understand this newfangled animosity toward Belicheck or the Patriots. All because they're good?

It's partly because of the videotaping thing (which I think was blown out of proportion like everything else by the media) which is deserved criticism.

However, most of it comes from the fact that everyone hates how he's so tight lipped, not pouring his heart and mind out in every press conference.

Oh, and he's "classless" for "running up the score".

And apparently people want him and the other coach to kiss midfield. Because the handshake isn't good enough.

Next time Tony ought to hold onto that hand, wrestle him to the round and go UFC on his ass. What a prick.
I saw Manning looking for Brady after the game but Tom just walked off. Don't they usually shake hands or something? I heard they even text every now and then. Looks to me like the Pat's are the new Raiders of old.
