Farve return or retire?

He's already floated thoughts of returning to the media.

With no ring, I'm guessing he'll be back. I figured he'd retire only if they won the big game to go out on top.

Should he be back is another question.

Rodgers did well in the Dallas game, but he seems to lack durability...

Oh well, another Super Bowl I don't really care about...

I think the Giants look like the more disciplined team. GB's D keeps committing dumb penalties and keeping the Giants alive.

Lethal

Well I expect the illegal contact and PI penalties after this season... the corners and safeties play physical, sometimes they get called.... I stopped swearing at them about mid season since they seemed be more effective than they were hurting us.

I'd blame it more on false starts and roughing the passer than the PI, even though those hurt too.

No doubt New England takes the Superbowl victory. But then again I chose Tampa, Dallas and Green Bay.

Go Pats, just 1 more game, please?

The Giants are on fire at the moment tho. It might not be the cakewalk everyone thinks. Both teams have 2 weeks off.

The team is young but he isn't.

He's not but the rest of the team really came together this year. Enough to stroke his ego enough for another run next year, and maybe the year after.

I'm torn. Favre's still good, but as I said, Rodgers shows promise... of course I don't think he's ever played more than one game in a row without somehow getting injured (typically in practice after playing a game)...

I'd almost like to see Favre come back and become the backup to Rodgers to help rebuild and ease the transition for the young team... but that will happen shortly after pigs fly, hell freezes over, and Lambeau thaws...

So should he leave now or try another year. I doubt he wants to go out on this game. But does he have enough left.

favre did very well this year and helped take green bay to the nfc championship game, so he at least deserves another year, and his career is solidified for the hall of fame already

even if his team goes 9-7 next year, that will still be leaving the league on a good note, especially at his age, and if he has his last game next year, and green bay doesn't get into the playoffs then, there will still definitely be a huge fanfare around his enormous career

do you think this is going to have a yankees/red sox angle to it?

congrats to the giants and the patriots. i'm cheering for eli so that all the haters shut up.

The lines are different, A lot of Red Sox fans can be Giants fans, Yankees and Jets fans. Not the same. I have relatives that are Red Sox fans and Jets fans. Or Red Sox fans and Giant fans. Football fans are more wide spread then in baseball.

Favre must go. The Packers need to focus on the future. Unfortunately Bret can't bring another Super Bowl victory to Green Bay. Who can do that I don't know, but it's not Favre. It's a young man's game and I love Brett. One of the classiest players to play the game; Barry Sanders also comes to mind.

Congrats NY!

I do think this was his last chance. While Green Bay might have a great team next year so will the Cowboys and the Giants are not going anywhere. It will get harder to reach the promise land.

Yeah let's say goodbye to the great Brett Favre. You were simply amazing!
