Favre must go. The Packers need to focus on the future. Unfortunately Bret can't bring another Super Bowl victory to Green Bay. Who can do that I don't know, but it's not Favre. It's a young man's game and I love Brett. One of the classiest players to play the game; Barry Sanders also comes to mind.

Congrats NY!

Yeah except they don't have anyone to replace him. I don't think Rodgers is good enough to be a starting QB in this league.

It's possible that the Packers draft a guy for the future and have Favre help to get him ready.

If Farve is going to give up the reins it is to retire, he isn't going to stick around and teach a replacement.

i think if the packers didn't get this far he wouldn't have come back, but know i think this gives him the motivation he didn't have before to return

I agree with what you saying, but it's time. Unfortunately :(

He's not going to retire. He should, but he won't.

They were obviously in the playoffs, possibly even had the first round bye before I saw reports of him "thinking" about coming back...

Last year he really wasn't sure and no one knew, since the rumor is out there, he's coming back. I think the only way he would have retired this year was with a Super Bowl ring. I do think they should focus on the future, and Rodgers might be it if he can stay healthy between games. He did do a great job in the Dallas game when Favre got injured but he'll definitely need durability, something GB is going to have to get used to in the next years. We'll need 2 decent QBs since we won't have an Iron Man like Favre who you know, that no matter what, he's going to start next week.

do you think this is going to have a yankees/red sox angle to it?

These are the two most boring weeks in sports coming up. The media is going to try and come up with as many angle to this game as possible. By kickoff time, we'll know who Eli's childhood playmates were and what games they used to play....

Based on what? The great job he did against Dallas when he had to come in an replace Brett for a few drives?

Rodgers is ready and eagerly awaiting his chance to take the reigns. The Packers WILL NOT draft another QB in a high round while Rodgers is healthy.

I'm sure of it....the next Maning might get some of the action as well.

Congrats to NYG....hope they finish the season as champs.

Bless

Healthy is is main problem. He has had a few games where he's played and it seems he always manages to get injured in practice, shortly after playing in a game. If Favre does retire the Packers will need to get their hands on a decent back up QB just in case Rodgers gets injured. We can't expect another Favre who will play through whatever injury he has. So I wouldn't say they definitely won't draft another high round QB, in fact it might not be a bad idea when Favre retires, this year or next, or the year after that...

I really hope the Giants win, not so much to ruin the perfect season for the Pats, but more to put the pundits and odds-makers in their places.

So far the Giants were supposed to be beat by Tampa, Dallas, and Green Bay. The Chargers were supposed to be handily defeated by the Colts. I'm really tired of people taking any game for granted when I've seen so many games won by team y when team x was supposed to walk all over team y. I love to see overconfidence knocked down a peg or two whenever I can. Unless it means seeing the Packers lose...:D

i think the giants win in a close one and the eli legend of winning begins. all the haters shut up about him being a loser and there will be no more manning bashing.

Maybe Payton bashing, I think Eli has proven himself the last 5 weeks.

As long as the Mannings keep doing those retarded ****ing commercials (DSRL DSRL!), the Manning bashing will continue.

CUT THAT MEAT
CUT THAT MEAT

Nobody cares about the commercials, it's how they play on the field. If they play good the commercials don't matter much.

Could be worse..You could be a J-E-T'S fan.First their hated divison rivals are only one game away from the perfect season, and now their more successful neighbors are going to the SB.And that's just for starters
