2007 was the year I...

2007 was the year I...

-Started my life with Apple
-Met the most amazing woman
-Realized that I didn't want to teach
-Changed my major as a result of above statement
-Taught myself two programming languages
-Lost the single most important person to me, my Grandfather
-Lost a cousin who was more a brother
-Grew a winter beard

There a few more that i just can't remember off the top of my head...
 
  • worked out exactly what goals I need to work towards over the coming years
  • procrastinated on every single one of them :rolleyes:
  • got married
  • paid off mortgage
 
2007 was the year that I...

• Realized that there was no joy left at my workplace, so I...
• Quit working there to focus on freelancing
• Got aggressive about finding clients
• Made more money than any other of the previous years
• Bought an iPhone
• Bought a MacPro
• Rediscovered how much I love to read
• Remained happily married
• Got my son a Wii
• Somewhat organized the clutter in my office
• Reconnected with my estranged family members
• Wasted entirely too much time playing on the internet

All in all it was a good year. Don't get me wrong, bad stuff happened too...lots of it. But one of my resolutions is not to dwell on that and keep moving forward, so...here's to that! :D
 
* Got my first IT job
* Went on my first all-expenses-paid trip
* Met the President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, and the creator of Mario, Shigeru Miyamoto
* Met Weird Al Yankovic
* Watched several family members screw up their lives
* Turned 19
* Got over a lot of social fears (having Asperger's syndrome and all)
* Got Leopard
* Got my first LCD display (late to the party, eh?)
* Got a DS Lite
* Got that DS Lite autographed by Miyamoto, Reggie, and Aonuma
* Got another DS Lite to actually play
* Got my first speeding ticket (which has been deferred and is not on my record)
 
  • went back home after a couple of years in college
  • met my fiancee
  • got back to the top of the Horn section at school
  • met the former first horn assistant of Chicago Symphony and played for her on a master class
  • went to San Francisco in the middle of the semester to get out of the routine

Life goes on uneventful and in a stiff routine...
 
2007 was the year I....


-Went to Honduras on a missions trip
-Kept my job for 1.5 years (almost 2 now) & I still like it
-Fell in love for the first time (I'm still with him!)
-Got my license
-Went to tons of concerts (Atreyu, Underoath, Coheed&Cambria, Paramore, Anberlin, WARPED, Haste the Day, ect ect ect)
-Had a GREAT summer
-changed.
-Joined MR!
-stopped biting my nails
-lost weight by starting to exercise again!
 
...converted, forever.

* Saw Arctic Monkeys... Twice
* Did lots of crazy stuff away from home™
* Bought a new car
* Lost shittttttt loads of weight (Like, 5 stone... in a week)
* Generally started to feel better about me.
 
-Bought my first mac
-and made this as my FMP on that very mac
-Went to new york
-Went to california
-Got Distinction, Distinction, Merit on my Media course
-Became fed-up with new music and began listening to Hendrix, Beatles, The Who etc
-Split up with and then got back with my girlfriend
-Had the first good xmas in 3 years.

Good year all round :)

  • Became tenure-track assistant professor (completed my doctorate in 06)
  • Had a "milestone" birthday
  • Celebrated 10 years with my girl (8 years in marriage)
  • Bought our first house
  • Had my car flooded
  • Had more debt than ever in my life
  • Content at where I am in my life
 
- Had a good christmas first time in 2 years
- Bought Call of duty 4
- Played all the Half Life games - Half life, Opfor, Blueshift, Halflife 2, EP1, Ep2
- Got a powerbook
- Got leopard and tiger
- Got my new desk, with 2 new Displays
- Still working at my current place of employment
- Got sick, had to go to hospital
- Watched WWE
- acquired a interest for the german language
- Installed about 10 Windows Servers out in the world (FUN!)
- Went on Holidays to Kalbarri (aussie members will no the place)
- joined Mac Rumors
 
2007 was the year I...

  • Got my first paying gig
  • Switched to Intel
  • Got my drivers license
  • Tried to kill my phone numerous times
  • Almost had a stress attack
  • Dressed up like Steve Jobs for my term paper report (no pics, sorry)
  • Made numerous upperclassmen friends
  • And most importantly, made a new best friend
