i like the new wednesday home. away isn't bad. i loved(own) the orange one...
Yeah, like the home kit, not so keen on the away kit. The orange away kit was one of my favourites. That and the yellow kit with pale blue trim.

Actually, I can't say I'm that keen on it. Arsenal wish they could pull off pinstripes as well as Brian Horton. :p

Assuming these are all genuine...

Bolton's home is awful, Blackburn's away is okay as is West Ham's, I can't really see Wigan's well enough to give an informed opinion, Liverpool away is very stylish indeed, Stoke away is decent enough, Chelsea away looks a bit odd with those shoulders (apparently the same as Liverpool's but the colours and hoops don't work nearly as well with them), Chelsea third is ruined by the yellow, Wolves home is good but too orange while the away is okay, Sunderland's home is great (although I'm not certain about the ghosted crest), Newcastle's home looks very good and the 'keeper's isn't bad either, Everton's home I'm not convinced by, and the Wendies' away kit is okay while the home looks very smart indeed.

I hope that's sorted that out. :D

It's interesting to see that many manufacturers are going for a retro look with simple, bold colours and relatively few frills and fripperies – I'm pleased by this as I like football shirts to be simple and classy. Some actually seem to be directly inspired by a particular vintage shirt, Everton's being a key example.

Sunderland couldn't get anything out of tonight's game so now all 4 teams know what the need to do this weekend to survive.

Sunderland:
Will survive with

I think I have everything correct, let me know if you see a mistake.

I can actually see all 4 teams losing.

Hull have the toughest match IMO, even with Man United having nothing to play for. Sunderland seems eager to join the scrap, so it's anyone's guess what will happen. I'm still going with Middlesbrough and Newcastle for the drop. I'd like nothing better than to see Hull get a result against United too.

Heh. Us regular Football Threaders should adopt a team en masse next season and keep an eye on their progress (or lack of it) over the course of the campaign. The more obscure the better. :D

I'm in.

UP YOU AMBER MAGICIANS!!

I remember when Brid Town beat them to win the FA Vase :)
However, they were made famous for the old milk advert :D

I'm in as well. We can decide over the summer to pass the time until the start of next season.

My favourite chippy in the world is about halfway between Queensgate and Ma and Pa Cake's house, so the opportunity for post match snackage is there. And Miss Jaffa Cake always looks forward to a soup at the ground, Queensgate soup is rather delicious.

Non-league football is ace. :)

Best chippy is Jacks, on Hilderthorpe Rd near Tesco. £2.50 for fish & chips, blinding!
Last thing I remember about Brid Town's ground was that it was getting demolished when the club folded. The club was then reformed from the Greyhound pub team who some of my mates played for :)

It is but not when your team is in it :p dark times! I do prefer lower league football to the premier league though, especially when you can go down for away days and there is only about 100 fans in the away end. Such good banter!

Talking about lower league football, 20 odd years ago Wolves hit a spot of bother and ended up in the 4th division.

After narrowly avoiding going out of business, signing a young local player called Steve Bull and missing out in the play offs in the first season, we won the 4th and 3rd division titles in successive seasons with Bully getting 50 goals in both seasons.

During these two seasons and depending on the other teams ground capacity, we were taking up to 6,000 fans to away matches. We often ended up with more supporters than the home teams and even took over 50,000 fans down to Wembley to watch us win the Sherpa Van Trophy final.

So yes, the lower leagues can be fun. :D
