Ah, but butter wouldn't melt would it? ;)

Nowt wrong with a bit of foreign footie. One or more of the Scandinavian leagues might be worth a look. Mind, they run spring-autumn rather than autumn-spring unless I'm mistaken.

I have been trying to follow the Swedish league this past season. Trying to find my team.

Anyone watch Gillingham vs. Shrewsbury Town play off final today. 90th minute header from a corner (which wasn't a corner). A fair result from the game and it was also nice to watch, my mums friend's son plays for Gillingham.

It has been a good season, all in all. The premiership has got three very strong teams that are capable of doing very interesting things in the next couple of years. Arsenal are a strange one, they have seriously regressed over the last 4/5 seasons, even if they did have a good league season (despite ultimately finishing 3rd) last year. They need to spend this season, although I've been saying that for 3 seasons now and Wenger doesn't seem to want to do it.

So I was looking on the BBC website at some stats about Hull City, and stumbled across this:

Joint highest no. of outfield players on pitch for every minute 1
equal with Portsmouth

So, the question is? Which Hull City outfield player has played every minute of every game? Which Portsmouth player has accomplished this same?

Just looking at Man U's team selection and it's nothing as I expected. Even less experience than I thought. Still, the Man U kids are going to want to impress and won't be lacking skill that's for sure

Fingers crossed for Jaffa's boys...good luck!

I think that the title battle this season can be summarized in one phrase: squad depth. There is very little to separate the quality of the first teams among the top three. But Manchester United has proven to have the largest squad of reserve/bench players who really make an impact. Liverpool and Chelsea also have large squads but United seems the best at resting first-team players and yet still pulling out wins.

I think I might go and have a few beers now :)

Shame it's not a bank holiday weekend in Scotland, work tomorrow :(

Been a great day for you :) Congratulations

As it stands Hull are down

I am liking the new almost instant BBC live text page. However they really need to make the table live as well.

Middlesborough are losing, a long long way back for them now. Come on Villa.

edit: Villa are winning now. So Newscatle go down instead of Hull :).

As it stands half way through the final game

About an hour before the joy and heart break is confirmed. Still times for lots of twists and turns before then. Only 1 goal can change everything.

It is a shame that Sami Hyypia didn't start. I suspect he might be carrying some sort of injury and Rafa wants him to finish the game. 10 fantastic years, hopefully he will come back once he hangs up his playing boots.

I just saw a scary shot of a Hull City fan dressed as Elvis in the stands...

I hope he does well in Germany, 10 years of service at a top club is quite an achievement.

EDIT: ...and Robbie Keane scores against Liverpool.

Steven Gerrard curls a free-kick inches wide and Sami Hyypia comes on to a resounding standing ovation from the Anfield faithful. He takes the armband - and my word does he deserve this.

So pleased, he is a Liverpool Legend.

Indeed, which is annoying for Pepe in regards to the golden glove.

Not long now until everything is confirmed.

Middlesborough are gone.

It is just down to Newcastle and Hull, my nerves are must be hell for those like Jaffa.

As a Wigan fan I can empathize with Jaffa et al. The Latics survived on the last day of the season a few years ago by beating Sheff Utd.

Edit: And Hull survive.

Congratulations to Hull and Jaffa Cake.

You must have been secretly blaming xUKHCx for your slump because you've been crap since he closed that old thread where you were doing so well and started this one. ;)

Luckily, the ProZone stats demanded a tactical 1-0 defeat and you stuck to it and came up with the goods. :D

So fed up of hearing how passionate all the Newcastle fans are, so glad they went down. Congrats to Hull :D

I guess they can no longer claim they are the biggest club in the North East. It looks like you need more than 2 saviours to actually save a club.

Fulham did a sterling job this season, further proof that Roy Hodgson is a top class manager.

I actually like Gareth Southgate as a manager so a little sad to see him leave the premiership.

Only 35 points needed to get safety. Looks like we are footballing geniuses

In terms of the bottom it seems as if the magical 40 points will actually be about 35 ish if the league follows the projections as done by our panel of experts (i.e us lot :D)

Congratulations to Hull and Jaffa Cake.

Opps, sorry Jaffa. If it wasn't for me you would be in the Champions League next season.

They just showed Phil Brown singing
