Wow...I knew Windass was fat, but 994 pounds? Whew! :D

What's up with Sammy Hyypia being left out of the Champions' League squad for Liverpool? Seems odd to drop such a long servant of the club this way. This is just the kind of Benitez-shuffle of players I think hurts us in the long run.

an on-line game featuring some fat old bloke whose team is going to get beat on Saturday? :D

I smell poo!
I'm 71 kg (and 6ft 2") and I'm a big lanky streak of pee pee (BMI 20 according to my Wii Fit). There is no way Windass is the same weight as me but 5" shorter, BMI 23. For starters, his muscle density must be a lot more than mine. And no, I'm not calling him fat, I share a desk with the ex-captain of Airdrieonians and he's 14 stone but not fat (although his Wii Fit tells him otherwise.)

Which also answers the question, what happens to the footballers who leave the game when they retire (they don't all become managers or coaches.) Some become piping engineers. :)

I think the rest all end up either sat on a sofa with Alan Hansen on a Saturday night or managing pubs, don't they?

Thing is, I'm 11-and-a-half stone (and like you Fuzzy I'm 6'2", the height of champions), so that means if this is to be believed I'm heavier than Dean Windass! Cripes. I'd best cut down on my pre-match pintage.

For what it's worth, City's official website lists his weight as being exactly 13 stone (82.63kg) and the veteran striker measures a shortarseish 5'10". If anyone wants to know the vital statistics of any other members of our first team squad (Ian Ashbee's hat size or Ryan France's inside leg, for example), let me know. It's all in the Prozone stats. ;)

Do the Prozone stats state the length of Phil Brown's 'tache? Also concerned about it's density, not as thick and bushy as say a Tom Selleck model sported by most of the Airdrie team of the late 1970s

(my colleague Jim is front row 3rd from right, these days now sans 'tache)

It's early days for the 'tache yet, it only joined the club a week ago!

I know for a fact though that the Gaffer – fully aware of its immense potential – is carefully nurturing it and this, coupled with our recent investment in the GroZone™ moustache system, will no doubt result in a bushy and luxurious bit of facial fuzz staking a place for first team football towards the business end of the season.

Expect a few outings in the reserves and maybe a cup game or two first, and then I reckon the 'tache will be ready for the Premier League big boys.

that can’t be true, surely!!!

They’ll be telling us he’s only 28 years old next. :)

Really bad feeling about Iceland tonight. My Spidy sense is tingling....

Might watch the England game instead as a neutral, think it will be more interesting.

At least you can watch it, I don't have Setanta so I'm screwed. Instead I'll watch the US destroy Trinidad & Tobago. A poor switch.

EDIT:
I've been watching the Russia-Wales game, and I have to say that Russia look very beatable - the Welsh are putting up a good fight, even though the Russians have just scored a second to go ahead 2-1. It would be 2-2 had Gareth Bale not missed a penalty.

Russia are dangerous in the attack, but susceptible to the counterattack. Arshavin is having a somewhat quiet game.

You know, I'm detecting an increasing sense of hostility towards Windass from you over the past few days. I can only assume you're growing increasingly concerned about the mauling you're going to experience on Saturday. But don't worry, we're only doing it for your own good. You see, we're here to save you. Here to save you from yourselves.

You'll thank us for it one day. ;)

I like Capello's starting XI for England, though I would have called up Agbonlahor at least to the bench. Still not sure about the right back position. In fact, it sounds like England are shaky at the back today.

Sometimes I think England can only be a good squad when either Lamps or Gerrard are hurt.

Theo Walcott is making a pretty strong case for himself today, eh? :D

Walcott with a great little (or maybe a very big) goal, but is now in a spot of bother!

I played with Croatians in youth leagues, and my brother played with them in High school/college. There are a lot of Croatian immigrants in my town, and football is in there blood. At their best they always play very physical, but are prone to dirty kicks and elbows. And they dive. Worse than the Italians.

Well my spidy sense was well out, possibly because of all the drugs I'm on (bloody kids have brought something back from nursery.)

Scotland scored before the England match kicked off so it's currently holding my attention (although I had a scotthayes moment and flicked it over as Walcott's goal went in).

Currently 2-0 :)
*EDIT* 2-1

...and my comment about dirty Croatian play looks especially relevant as Joe Cole is knocked on the head and goes out covered in blood...a sending off for Croatia...

...who are now down 0-3 thanks to Wayne Rooney, who suddenly remebered his job is to score goals...:D

Capello's honeymoon might be over, but the marriage is looking up.

A 4-1 thrashing being dished out by England - the last result I would have expected.

Theo Walcott is rightly taking center stage, but Heskey seems to have a good game as well, and Rooney has rediscovered the back of the net.

Credit to Capello for having the balls to start Theo in such an important game - McLaren or Sven would not have done it.
