It was a dive. 100%.

Whilst he made the most of it, an elbow in the ribs and a hard impact when they collided isn't a dive.

If you've ever played football, you'll know that it only takes a touch to knock you over when you're traveling at full speed; so an elbow in the ribs and a clattering will result in a fall.

Gerrard is a diving whining cheater.

Bollocks.

I must confess, I did question that myself for a moment. But no, I've been convinced – teh shirt™ will see us through.

Let us consider a few things about teh shirt™...

  • It first came to prominence in the early 1990s
  • It was derided for its looks at the time, and indeed ever since.
  • It returned last season to guide us through the playoffs and Wembley.
  • It's getting on a bit now, and to be honest isn't quite in the shape it once was.
  • Despite this, it's quite, quite ace.

Now, all those things equally apply to Dean Windass. And we all love Deano, right? :D

The polyester marvel remains.

Dare I ponder if Teh Shirt™ has lost some of its luster? Or would that be blasphemy?

It would!

teh shirt™ is omniscient, omnipresent...

It keeps Jaffa's upper regions warm and covered safe from the elements.
It helps him make a bold fashion statement.
It is there win or lose.
It knows all...

Definitely 100% intentional for me. Morgan should be banned for life - he's done this before and he'll do it again. He fully intended to stick his elbow in Hume's head, which is potentially fatal. Should be charged with ABH and chucked in prison for a bit. Shocking.

In other news, Leeds are going to lose to Derby tonight and I'm going to cry :(

Never mind - there's always the Johnstones Paint Trophy for you to look forward to.

Nope, we got knocked out of that by Rotheram :D

League Cup & FA Cup are our only hopes. But we've scored significant revenue from both legs against Northampton in the FA Cup being televised, and also next round televised.

First objective is to get out of League 1...

If you haven't seen the Vela goal from tonight, have a look here.

This is how the Guardian live-text described it:

This is just the most beautiful goal. Djourou came out from the back and poked a pass down the middle to Vela. His first touch took it away to the left and, from the edge of the box, with Bramble right up his backside and Kirkland standing tall eight yards out, he kissed the most stunning chip over the keeper and in. The arc was absolutely perfect. Two touches were all he needed. Honestly, that was a thing of the rarest beauty.

Harry (where's my 10 pieces of silver) Rednapp and spurs will be getting a nice helping of payback later today I hope.

Or they can win and we can concentrate on the PL...

Either is good with me.:D

(Although I'd rather we beat spurs and that Paulychenkoyukskivich bloke has his ACL's chewed out by a rabid badger with rabies).

Rant Off...

I've heard some tittle-tattle over the past few days that we might be looking to bring Vela in on loan in January. How much truth there is in this remains to be seen, though.

It wasn't a bad goal, either.

Doubt it would happen....hes been on loan for 3 seasons already hes got enough first team experience and he is showing that he has the potential to play for the 1st team with his stunning performances in the Carling Cup so far. Then again this season has been full of suprises so anything could happen....Arsenal fans would hate to see him go on loan aswell, hes got the same hype around him that Theo had this time last year...

Hopefully the yids win today so we can meet them somewhere in the cup and get some revenge for last year

Can't argue with Champions League Semi's to Histon away in less than a decade though. That's just awesome fun.
Fret not, we're happy to fly the flag for Yorkshire. ;)

Yeah, I'm putting this in the 'not very likely' camp as well. In favour of this rumour, Phil Brown has a good relationship with Arsenal (we often use the Gunners' training facilities when we're playing down south), and I've no doubt that Wenger would feel Brown could be trusted with one of his young charges – Fraizer Campbell's success at City last season would indicate that Vela would be in safe hands here.

However, as you say he's staking a claim for a place in your first team, and recent injuries and suspensions have left you a little exposed so far as strikers are concerned. Unless Wenger dips his hand in his pocket and buys a top striker or two in January, I'm inclined to think Vela will be staying at the Emirates for the time being.
