Here's a story you guys might have missed.

Scottish journalists took on members of the Scottish parliament in a charity game of football at Hampden. There were pitch invasions, fisticuffs, 'pundit' Chick Young was taken off on a stretcher after a vicious tackle and the game was abandoned 10 minutes into the second half after a 3rd MSP was sent off.

Linky McLink

Ahhh, Scottish football

Ugh, i'm more than gutted. Just hate that kind of thing. It's not good, not being able to hold onto a 2 goal lead with 5 mins to go. I went a bit crazy when their fourth went in, hitting and kicking anything around me, think one of the Emirates seats is nastily broken judging from the cracking plastic sounds

Some poor defending again (see Fener), only this time Almunia had a 'mare aswell. Nasty :(

That is HILARIOUS. I can only imagine what would happen if members of the US Congress played a baseball match with sports journalists here. It would be so tame and congenial...crazy scotsmen...;):D

MLS playoffs are starting, if anyone cares...the league has a real black eye from the Becks/Galaxy situation - which is a shame because some of the best MLS football ever is being played right now. Let golden balls go to Milan, and as far as I'm concerned he can stay there. Up Columbus! I think it's going to be a Columbus/Houston final - though I think Columbus will face Chicago in the Eastern Conference Semifinal and that will be the best matchup. Chicago look pretty dangerous with Brian McBride and Blanco up front.

My condolences to Hull as a Liverpool fan. We stirred up the blues and shamed them into looking for revenge. Good luck against United though! I think they could pull off a draw (I'm willing to believe just about anything is possible with Hull these days).

Indeed it is a great story.

Rooney admits to spitting on a journalist and can't even remember to bring the apology with him. Yet another fantasic role model English football players are setting.

Ferguson still going on about the Rooney yellow card that was deserved. With this level of complaining I think Steve Bruce is the ideal candidate to replace him.

I'm not at all familar with the way the Beckham deal was funded. Is he paid through the club or centrally from the MLS. Do you feel that he essetianlly used the MLS? It seems to me it was a way of making a quick buck.

On the whole he probably did benefit MLS, after all not many people had heard of LA Galaxy before Beckham, however in the short term it will suffer a bit of a down slope over thing whole circus.

Has there been lots of fall out over this in the press.

All managers tend to complain about cards, but somehow Ferguson annoys me the most when he does it. Everyone knows Rooney is a hothead and usually deserves the cautions he gets. I usually have less patience for whinging from the big four coaches.

By the way Jaffa, thanks for the link on Deano. I've checked that "blog" once or twice but forgot about it. I hope he gets more of a runout in the Prem at some point, but I wonder if he'll be gone in January (in spite of what he says) if he keeps riding the bench.

There were rumours doing the rounds yesterday that he'd agreed a deal with dirty, dirty Leeds to go there on loan until January at least, but Mr Duffen came out yesterday to say that there's been no discussion at all between the two clubs.

Further whispers suggest that he may feature in some capacity against Manchester United tomorrow, although if so whether it'll be a place in the starting eleven or on he bench remains to be seen.

At his age a starting spot against United sounds unlikey, but I would think he'd be a decent impact player off the bench. Do you think Deano still has what it takes? I want to see him play myself.

Well, he came off the bench for the last ten minutes against Chelsea but really the game was long gone by then.

Has he got what it takes? he's got the ability and everything, but at 39 we're not likely to see him outrunning defenders. Heck, we didn't even see him doing that 15 years ago. ;) It would be great though to see him get just one more goal in the Premier League, at least.

I think one thing that can't be underestimated is the impact he can have off the pitch, in the dressing room and on the training ground. He's got a huge amount of experience (a fair bit of that gathered in the Premier League), and I've heard Brown and other coaches comment that he can be a really positive presence.

spurs have made a dvd of this one as well... it was a big match being a derby and all but it may well also signal that they are starting to turn the corner and get moving in the right direction... i hope...

Everton stole that match away from Fulham. All in all a pretty mundane match however Fulham had the majority of the attacking play.

edit: Disaster start for Hull.

edit: However dream starts for Wednesday, Watford and Stoke.

edit: Hull get the equaliser, can they sustain it.

edit: Hull conceed

edit: Chelsea get a dodgy second goal.

edit: Hull conceed again

edit: Chelsea get a third

edit: Amr Zaki gets another

edit: echo echo echo echo

Unlucky Hull, thought you might have been able to do it*. The last 10 minutes must have been squeaky bums time for Sir A.

(*not really but we live and hope)

Interesting that only 6 out of 20 teams in the Premier League have a positive goal difference.

Wow, Hull put three past United. Fergie won't like that! :D

Not too upset about Liverpool's loss - it was an own goal that ultimately decided it and we had enough chances. But I wish Ramos was still running Spurs, for this week at least.

spurs wanted it more at the equalizer. I said after the third time we hit the post it was going to be one of those days.

Spurs have a confidence about them that they simply didn't have under ramos, if this game happen three weeks ago spurs would've crumbled. Right now is the tough time to play them and they showed it.

The way this season is shaping up (and I realize it's only just the beginning of November), I'm looking forward to the potential of some very exciting battles at both ends of the table. In particular, the relegation battle this season might me a real nail-biter.

I think the big four will probably keep their lock on the top four spots (Arsenal will go on a run at some point), but everything else looks up four grabs. The promoted teams are showing a lot of fight, and some of the "bigger" teams below the top four look vulnerable.

I wouldn't be shocked if two of the promoted teams stay up this year, and all three staying up still seems possible.

EDIT: Man City are an interesting team to watch this season, flashes of brilliance but hugely inconsistent...sort of like Arsenal but with more money and less talent.;)

Dammit Richard Dunne, you are killing my fantasy score this week.

I cunningly brought Ronaldo into my fantasy team this week and made him my captain – knowing that doing so would make it almost certain he'd have a terrible match, Manchester United would fall apart and we'd claim a famous victory. Hurrah!

Unfortunately, there was one setback – it didn't work.

right you are pachyderm and add a victory over 'pool to that!

That is why you should buy quality defenders such as Mendy.

My policy of not buying Lampard and Ronaldo hurts my points total and I am proud of my team.

I just forget to change my team before a game, bloody Torres has been on the pitch for the last 3 games

Van Persie was very very silly and it did deserve a red.
