another one conference superbowl

The "real" superbowl seems to be against 11 win Ravens and 12 win Steelers, both defense giants in the sport. The NFC, bleech!

I wouldn't discount the NFC that easily..The Cards are playing solid D,can run the ball and Fitzgerald is playing in another solar system. Warner is playing with confidence. If Boldin is ready to go..That's a helluva one/two WR combo. The Eagles have been rolling since they kicked the s**t out of the Cowgirls and are looking like last year's Giant's team...

I hope you are right. Whatever the conference outcomes, I will be rooting NFC all the way this year.

Before your local newspaper jumps on the puntastic headline tomorrow, let me beat them to the punch...

This weekend's conference championships are for the birds! (Eagles, Cardinals and Ravens).

Said when the playoffs started... an Eagle/Ravens Superbowl was very realistic

The Eagles are hot... and even though Arizona is surprising, I don't think they can handle the Eagle defense

The Steeler/Ravens game is going to be brutal... just like the Titans/Ravens game

Glad to see the #1s fall ;)

Now that the Giants are knocked out, I'm rooting for Arizona.

It would be really neat to see them get a championship.

I am not opposed to any of the 4 remaining teams actually
They all have their stories

I'm just glad it will be a Manning-free Super Bowl ;)
*Although Peyton's commercials are the stuff

"They're not saying Boo, they're saying MOOOOOOOVERS"

That makes me laugh every time.

I'm torn

I think I would like to Arizona go to the Superbowl

I'm not sure between Ravens/Steelers  I kind of like them both

REPORT: DUNGY IS DONE

Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that Colts coach Tony Dungy is informing coworkers that he has decided to retire.

Per Glazer, Dungy is making the rounds at the team’s complex, saying his good-byes, and informing all concerned that the transition should be smooth for his successor, Jim Caldwell.

Though crazier things that Dungy changing his mind between now and 5:00 p.m. EST have happened, it looks like Dungy is calling it quits.

And he has said in recent interviews that, once he’s done, he’s not coming back.

Edit:

McDaniels is the Broncos’ man

Posted: News | NFL.com Staff | Tags: Adam Schefter, Denver Broncos, Josh McDaniels

The Denver Broncos have hired New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as their head coach, reports NFL Network’s Adam Schefter.

McDaniels (born April 22, 1976) was 32 years, 8 months and 20 days old on Sunday. That would make him the fifth-youngest head coach in league history, according to a list on the Pro Football Hall of Fame Web site.

On Thursday night, Broncos chief operating officer Joe Ellis spent over four hours in Massachusetts conducting a second interview with McDaniels.

The Broncos interviewed Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier and Buccaneers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, among others, for the job, which became available Dec. 30 when Mike Shanahan was fired after 14 seasons on the job.

McDaniels started to earn recognition after leading the Patriots’ offense and QB Tom Brady to great success. This season, McDaniels lost Brady in the season opener but still managed to help New England go 11-5 with backup QB Matt Cassel at the controls.

McDaniels’ most significant hire will be his defensive coordinator. And Denver’s new defensive coordinator is expected to be former 49ers head coach Mike Nolan, a Broncos source confirmed Sunday night.

Reports are flooding in that Tony Dungy is going to retire this afternoon :(

Good. Now maybe Payton has a shot at going to the Super Bowl again.

Tony Dungy is just one game better than Marty Shottenheimer. Otherwise they are the exact same coach. Great players, respectable records, underachieving teams, can't win a big game.

I want to see a Eagles/Ravens Superbowl. Cards would be cool. I hate the steelers. I can't wait for the Ravens/Steelers Game. It's going to be intense and the ravens will be looking for blood after their last game. I say the Ravens win 17-13.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Eagles winning the Superbowl. So McNabb can say "peace philly" and play for another team.

Tony Dungy did win a Ring though.

Hence the one game remark.

But think about it. He's been to the playoffs 11 straight years. He couldn't take the Bucs to the Super Bowl but Gruden did his first year with the team. He's had Manning in the prime of his career (3 time MVP) and has only been to the Super Bowl once.

Well, Dungy did built that team. Gruden took all the benefits. Peyton Manning has struggled in the playoffs. The Defense has gived up the bad plays. They also lost alot of close games.

That's my point. Dungy couldn't take the team he built to the Super Bowl but someone else could.

And the Colt's defense, last I knew, reports to Dungy too. So does Manning.

Even though Marty and Tony may not be able to get their teams over the hump so to speak... there are a LOT of teams that would like to be consistently in the mix like theirs are... Detroit, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Oakland, et. al.

Bottom Feeder or 2nd Round Playoff Loser?
Hmmmmmmm... sign me up for Marty or Tony

In some ways, the coach can only get the team in the position to win... at some point the players have to take responsibility for the execution.
