Usf #19?

I'm watching the Kansas (#13) and USF (#19) game right now. It's 20 to 10, Jayhawks.

How the hell is USF ranked #19?!

They look terrible! I guarantee that Cal could take them and they are #23.

Top 25 Games Week 3

Friday's Game

#19 South Florida 37
#13 Kansas 34

A see-saw game with both teams holding big leads at times
The Bulls win on a 43 yard field goal as time expires

Saturday's Games

#5 Ohio State at #1 USC
I don't think it would have mattered if Chris "Beanie" Wells had played or not.
Every year Ohio State is talented but not tested and they show it in the big games.
Pryor is the only unknown because of the Oregon's Dixon and Texas' Young have played in the past against USC
But this is a different team and year, and I expect USC to dominate

#2 Georgia at South Carolina
The Dawg/Gamecock game is scrappy fight every year, including last year's loss by the Dawgs
That loss on multiple missed opportunities haunted the Dawgs late in the season
Richt has focused on this game, so don't expect the Dawgs to be looking ahead to Arizona State
The Dawgs need to let S. Carolina know early on that they cannot play with them

Nevada at #6 Missouri
Missouri shouldn't have any problems with Nevada
Texas Tech beat them 35-19 last week
They have a lot of offense, but Missouri should have more

North Texas at #7 LSU
LSU is ranked in the bottom 10 in scheduling out of conference opponents
They should be ashamed of this year's lineup: N. Texas, Troy, Appalachian State, Tulane
Tulsa put 56 points on North Texas last week

#9 Auburn at Mississippi State
MSU lost their opener but rebounded well last week
Auburn's defense has played well, but the offense is still learning
Anything can happen in the SEC, but Auburn should win without any trouble
However, MSU usually has a surprise or two during the season when you count them out

#10 Wisconsin at #21 Fresno State
Very interesting game... and I am picking Fresno State
I am not a believer in Wisconsin, and Fresno plays smash mouth
I think Fresno State at home will be too much for the Badgers
The Bulldog's win at Rutgers was bigger than the Badgers over Akron and Marshall

Western Kentucky at #11 Alabama
Time for Alabama to wake up after sleepwalking last week at Tulane
Indiana put 31 on Western Kentucky in their opener
This should be the time that Alabama tunes up

Southern Methodist at #12 Texas Tech
Texas Tech should have an easy time of it with SMU

#14 East Carolina at Tulane
What? No ranked team of ECU to beat?
Now the grind of the schedule sets in and we see what ECU is made of...
They have win consistently and get up every week for lesser opponents

UNLV at #15 Arizona State
I doubt Arizona State will be looking ahead to Georgia
This should be a tune up game for a showdown with the Dawgs in the desert

#16 Oregon at Purdue
Oregon has the top ranked offense in the country (44 and 66 points)
Purdue has a good offense too... so should be high scoring
The Ducks should win going away in this one

#17 Penn State at Syracuse
Syracuse is awful, losing 42-28 to Akron last week
Penn State has been running the score up every week
This one could get really ugly

UCLA at #18 BYU
BYU benefited from the official's call last week with Washington
UCLA looks to show they are for real after beating Tennessee
I think UCLA exposes BYU in this game and takes another step, beating 2 ranked teams

#22 Utah at Utah State
Utah should have no trouble with 0-2 Utah State

#23 California at Maryland
Maryland is a bad ACC team, and that is really bad
They barely beat Delaware and lost to Middle Tennessee
Cal should win easily, but don't thump your chest for beating a BCS school on the road like USC did...
This is the ACC you are playing

Louisiana Lafayette at #24 Illinois
Ho, hum... the Big 10 pads its won-loss record with games like this
Illinois will start building its reputation back

Not so fast my friend! Maryland is up big right now. Trying to redeem the conference reputation a little bit.

I SEE that... WOW
So much for the mighty Pac 10's #2 team :p
UCLA may have whipped Tennessee but Cal is taking a butt whipping from... Maryland... ouch

28-6 midway in the 3rd

What a surprise!!
I didn't see that coming at all, Maryland has been B A D

The two games I'm looking forward to the most this week are just an hour away.

#2 Georgia at South Carolina
I see this game going one of two ways.
1. Georgia is going to come out of the gate hot, put some quick points up and South Carolina is never able to play catch up.
2. A close game up to the fourth quarter when Spurrier's team "runs out of gas"/chokes. I'm hoping for a visor toss somewhere in this game, and throwing a pick with the game on the line seems like a great opportunity.

Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech hasn't showed up during the first two weeks of the season. QB Tyrod Taylor rejoined the team last week (after being previously redshirted) but had less impact than expected. Virginia Tech will continue to struggle against a strong Georgia Tech defense. Look for some turnovers in this one. Georgia Tech's offense has looked solid this year but they have put the ball on the ground a few too many times running the option. As long as GT has less than three turnovers, they win this one easy.

and another bad call against Georgia. i wonder who they want to win.

EDIT: well, it didn't help them any! ha!

oh man, talk about bad calls!

well Georgia came out on top anyways! hey, a win is a win

Cal sucks. UCLA sucks. Oregon sucks (though they just got lucky by going to OT).

Wow. The Pac 10 really laid an egg so far (but USC should dominate tonight but who the hell knows anymore!)

Well, you are right... Cal sucks and UCLA... just WOW, major suckage there

But my Dawgs... what can I say
Typical South Carolina game if you check the history
But at least we won this one, unlike last year

We need some serious attitude adjustment

Georgia Tech played close and that should be encouraging to you RamblinWreck... you are improving as the team grasps the new concepts

pac 10: 2-3 so far today. ucla just blew it big time, worst lost since 1929. oregon pulled it off with key injuries, but it was more like purdue just gave up

bad calls going USC's way. i wonder who they want to win?

Ohio is guilty of more penalties than the Raiders. Hell, their coach just said as much.

Quit making excuses. Ohio is being out-played and out-gamed.

Frankly, Ohio should keep in that other QB (not the senior). He moves the ball and confuses USC. It seems pretty obvious to me.

Again, Ohio can't game plan or execute a big game.

i'm not making excuses. after that interception returned for touchdown, he clearly stepped out of bounds. (USC linebacker, just before halftime)

i agree that the freshman QB looks better for Ohio St

Would a fumble into the end zone when you have a chance to tie the game do the trick?

While the "Old Ball Coach" always gives Georgia fits, the Dawgs looked, well, un-impressive today. I fear you're going to fall in the next poll, hope you stop at #3. (Oklahoma should jump you, and other teams looked more impressive than UGA.)

Speaking of un-impressive, does anyone have any idea why the pollsters insist on putting the Buckeyes at the top of the polls every year, in spite of their propensity for being blown out by top tier teams from other conferences? Anyone?
